 ^ This. I completely agree with this. I know it wasn't their fault that there's COVID-19 but I read some news last month that before the virus was announced by China didn't they tried to hide it? They should've taken proper measures in the first place to avoid more people from getting it.

I can’t believe how many people are defending China. They SHOULD apologize for silencing health officials for over a month and downplaying the numbers. Of course other viruses have been created and they haven’t apologized but in this day and age with media and exposure, China got caught red handed making a problem worse than it had to be. Their weak and oppressive leadership is showing.

So petty and pointless at this point...  Though I wish the Chinese government was a little more forthcoming with information in the early days of the outbreak, the world still has to vigilantly deal with it now.

It's a disease, biology.  Good hygiene, medical preparation and accommodation, and immunization of the L strain of the Covid 19 is the way the world has to deal with this.

Whilst i agree that China govt should've informed about the outbreak earlier, it has taken measures necessary to contain the virus including group travel ban of its own people to other countries.

 

They dont need to apologise officially as the last few countries where other infectious diseases originated from didn't. Most importantly at this juncture, people can stop pointing fingers but to work on solutions

As a hongkonger, I suffer a lot by being identified as Chinese. People around the world need to know that yellow skin, chinese-speaking people are not all Chinese. a lot of my taiwanese, singaporean, malaysian friend faced the same problem. so, I really wish people would have asked whether they are chinese or not before they judge.

Because it had not informed people earlier (1 month + late) so a lot of Chinese native/foreigners(5 millions+) came back to China for lunar new year and as well got infected. And the travel ban was carried on in mainland china only, thousands Chinese tourists were able to flood Southeast Asia, America and Europe under the quarantine time. Look it up. Again, you sound just like WHO when the disease was only in China, they advised us to calm down and praising China on how *good* they handled the situation. Look what now? "Every country should pulls all stops for the disease because this is a fkng pandemic" -WHO.

China government kept avoiding to admit the outbreak of the coronavirus until it has spread to everywhere in China. This wasn’t the first time as they did similar things that led to the outbreak of SARS in neighbouring regions in 2003. 

And also China is under the rule of dictatorship, their internet is filtered by the government and they don’t have freedom of press and speech. The actual infected and death numbers are being filtered in China too. 

And recently WHO has been praising the hell out of the prevention work of China and that is simply twisting the fact and disgusting imo. China government should apologise. 

I hate the fact that I was born in this country. I hate the government.
