SNL kinda works though, doesn't it? I know she'll do it when the album drops but why wouldn't she do it twice?

I guess they have a plan for the single though, they seem to want longevity

mmmm. i don't know if you can do it twice in one season.

But i'm sure that she'll be on SNL on April 11th, the last episode before break. She has done it for 3  eras in a row on the album's release week (BTW, ARTPOP, Joanne), and it always works brilliantly for promo.

Just wait for her to build the hype first, climb up airplay, have a Tiktok challenge go viral and then start doing TV. Look at how well Reputation did, but Taylor didn't start the TV performances until the middle of the era.

Well the reputation era started with a music video debut that aired durning the Vma’s, so I think that example doesn’t really fit in your argument.

Sorry, this entire thread,  all my comments thus far including the one about Taylor have been in regards to performances and not music videos :laughga:

Sorry but my question was what promo has she done so far.

Stars handle promo differently nowadays. The only one who does big pushes is Taylor. Also, her health may be an issue. I do think it's a bit odd she hasn't done one live performance, but if she is in a lot of pain....and she has to wrap a MV and get another single out before the album drops...I can absolutely see her skipping live performances for now.

That’s nice, however my comment asked what promo she done.

Yes, so I said Gaga has done just social media so far and will do TV performances later. Not that hard to get.

Its been 5 days sis, give her time

This!

She could be also waiting a little closer to album release date to create fresh hype right before

Also if she goes on a show after it's already gained a bit if momentum on its own especially radio, a surge in sales and streams that week could actually increase the chances of a #1 than if she does it now :ally:

I know this might sound stupid (love), but could the coronavirus outbreak impact her strategy?

Like, Europe in particular is responding on a very large scale.

Big sporting events have been cancelled, the James Bond film has been delayed, school's are closing, flights are being cancelled, ect, ect.

Might it be the case that Gaga's team want to keep her away from Europe? I think Gaga would be in a 'high risk' category because she already has an auto-immune disease, which is what coronavirus is.

This would explain why she hasn't yet followed up with Capital FM, since she was due for an in-person visit.

Perhaps her UK trip has been cancelled altogether because of it.

Corona virus is an autoimmune disease? :neyde:

Most televised performances now are only impactful when they're uploaded to Youtube so truly it isn't really a necessity right now. :ally:

That is the old way of promo sis. She will still do TV but it's not 2011 anymore. It's better to pick her key TV moments that are going to go viral instead of do everything.

But many do upload it to YouTube tho :selena:

Ppl who cite reduced tv audience need to remember some of that is offset by people who whatch highlights later on social media

It's like the Grammys... It's live audience is like half what it used to be but the highlights like performances still often get millions of views later

And if ur lucky it will go viral and be seen by even more people than on TV

Remember Gaga's Sound Of Music Oscars?

Because it's expensive and they probably are spending more money on payola than performances. Hotel, travel and protection for someone like Lady Gaga is super expensive.
