Most of pop songs struggle after it’s first week. Smash hit DSN doesn’t have a good second week. You set unrealistic expectations, if you’re disappointed it’s your own fault. after one of her biggest eras with nothing but overwhelmingly positive hype surrounding Gaga, this is not a good result for the new lead single, sorry. Let’s not start there. Pretty sure DSN DEBUTED at #30, much less the top 10 like SL is gonna do. Obviously not saying SL is gonna be as big or as streamed as DSN but it’s definitely not plummeting lol. Delusional people.

It is though. You're objectively wrong. Also it is even more wrong to treat Stupid Love's first 9 days performance, which are fine, as a final result for the song's entire chart run which is going to extend for weeks and weeks. vedetegomes 2,607
Bitch please. Most of pop hits nowadays survive with radio airplay, don’t start now without that wouldn’t be top 10 as well. So give the damn song a time to react

The music, not the bling. streaming, yes she is bombing so far, but the radio response in US, Canada and UK gives us hope. She hasn’t had a pop radio hit in 7 years. Very good sign that radio seems to be on board.

True, but I think people need to understand that ASIB was a very special scenario. It's still hard for pop songs to chart these days with rap/hiphop being so dominate on streaming. However, Dua's song is doing fine, so maybe SL will eventually do the same? We don't know yet. We only can hope that SL will settle from the hype and then make its climb. Otherwise, I'm sure Gaga's team has something else lined up that'll destroy the charts. Hopefully.

It’s also coming from an artist who has been in the game more than 12 years. Who has always been a weak streaming force. That you read vague and gaslighting headlines on the internet then you deluded your own self is not Gaga’s fault. The fact with this single Gaga gets radio back up is its own victory for other singles later. Not to mention, it takes a long time to grow in streaming for someone like Gaga. Everyone here is more than capable to comprehend how do numbers look like so why do you feel need to force down your false narrative to people throat. Please ignore the spelling in username. I am a Beyonce stan afterall.

hausofdave 3,103
i guess many of you don’t remember the first few weeks of Shallow’s performance, the daily meltdowns over its BB chart positions, when it was getting mediocre Spotify updates, MR level radio support, and movie support to maintain its high sales, despite it becoming one of her biggest WW hits, Shallow also never became a success out of clear waters. Stan culture has kind of ruined realistic chart expectations. Artists without large stanbases are allowed to have normal chart runs. If a pop girl isn't aiming for a slew of consecutive Top 10 weeks right out of the gate the song is labelled as a flop. Stupid Love is showing quite the opposite trajectory. If radio wasn't touching it with a ten foot pole then yeah the song would be DOA. Pop hits need radio audience accumulation to chart high on the Hot 100. Even Shallow wouldn't have gone #1 the week of the Oscars had she had shitty radio support (at the time I would have labelled her support as mediocre which is slightly better than shitty..)
