SHALLOW 16,386
I honestly really enjoyed the Joanne Era and ARTPOP has always been my fave so i admit that i was disappointed with Joanne’s looks sometimes and i think ever since Coachella she kinda got tired of that concept and wanted to try different things that honestly were completely different from Joanne’s concept (Coachella and JWT interludes, The Cure) so maybe it’s not the most coherent Era but who cares
RochestrMonstr 3,199
Well hopefully it turns to be out a happy era for Gaga, like Joanne did. Because I don’t want her having another ARTPOP era. Ever!
magicalgaga 783
I understand where you're coming from. The Joanne era was very underwhelming for me at least, but the message, the music and the way Gaga opened up to us about her past struggles was very very heart-warming and iconic. We got to know her on a personal level and see her as Stefani, not just Gaga. That being said, like many others have stated in this thread, the connection to the era wasn't really there. The looks, the promo and all that weren't that exciting. I guess the reason why people are more into this new era is just because we've missed Gaga's campy and eccentric side so much. i was born this way, baby
Lord Temptation 11,209
Joanne was a very spiritual album. In fact it almost felt like Gaga was portraying a wandering ghost throughout the entire era.
rasclautmangos 2,746
Idk what a gaga era is supposed to be like. I was always a fan, but I never related to her on a human level before until the Joanne and ASIB eras. So I definitely appreciate those eras for what they were. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way.
zerojk 4,954
Joanne felt VERY Gaga imo If you are a true fan, you know that Gaga is much more than eccentricness and high tempo music.... In every acoustic performance she has done since The Fame, you can see a "Joanne" soul in her.... I don't like when fans limit her to just pop music... she's much more than that, and Joanne was a great album
ladygagafan1234 700
Just because it's not like her earlier albums doesn't mean it's less "Gaga". She's not defined by one genre which is clear by now. I think her break from pop (dance/synth) music will be worth it. It's been 7 years since ARTPOP. I'm glad she didn't release record after record because I would much rather 6 solid albums over 12 mediocre ones.
Bling 31,375
Honestly I've mirrored your thoughts on Joanne, but I've grown to love it and after seeing Gaga's recent Oprah interview I've realized that Gaga needed a break from being full on "Lady Gaga" as she lost her identity and felt owned by her fans and the world. So in a way, "Joanne" was actually a Stefani era just like ASIB was an Ally era. We wouldn't be seeing Gaga as comfortable as she is now as "Lady Gaga" without Joanne and ASIB. She's had several years away from being 100% "Lady Gaga" since ARTPOP ended and she started writing and conceptualizing Chromatica. Rereading that is confusing but does that make sense? Sidenote: SL video felt so refreshing because you can tell LG is full on back in LG performance mode.
Just A Holy Fool 2,551
Joanne was a great pivot for her. While it didn’t do very well commercially, it was very well received by audiences that always dismissed Gaga before. It also bridged her career to lead into ASIB era. It’s all a journey. I am glad we are all privileged to be along for the ride.

Lol you're one of those fake stan users that literally just frequent here to be a voice of negativity and don't play dumb. I've seen it a million times. I don't doubt that part of you does like her to some extent but you more dominantly dislike her and like to argue with the stans. It's similar to how I feel about nicki Minaj, hated her for the longest time but some of her songs I vibe with and eventually I grew to just accept the fact she exists but I'm still inherently cynical when it comes to her and absolutely will side against her in conversation if I think she's getting hyped. That is you. That is what you do and it's very transparent. Difference is, I'm not putting myself in the middle of nicki stans purposely trying to be a d*ck and make them doubt liking sh*t. That's why you're here, to be manipulative and satisfy some mentally off desire in your brain. It's one thing to have hated her but have some part of you that likes her but it's another to be here doing what you do. It's odd. It's odd that were all here as it is, but it's stranger that you make a habit out of being an asshole in oneof the most niche ways possible. It's almost like trolling but it's a little more pathetic. Cue you responding with some bullshit about having a right to your opinion and not being up her ass or whatever or how deceivingly backhanded/polite you want to say you are. It's all bullshit. I have been a hardcore fan and member of GGD since 2008. I traveled 9 hours twice to see her in concert. I have been a hardcore Gaga fan for 12 years now. But we all grow and change, I still love Gaga but im not her biggest fan anymore. Gaga changed as an artist and that is a good thing. What shes releasing is good but its not for me at the moment. My job is not to stay loyal to a celebrity, my job is to enjoy the music that connects with me. This cultish thinking is really sick and you should stop it. As to me always being negative towards Gaga, that is not true! I barely talk about Gaga unless its something I like. But considering her new single is a big event, I did comment that I dont like her new single in a very respectful way. So yes im still here and will continue to stay here, I dont care what your personal standards are for you to accept me on this site. **** OFF
Ally Campana 15,284
Y’all are annoying with the Joanne hate. Gaga has multiple facets to her and her music, not just dance pop. Miss me with that bullsh*t. Does it matter? Damage is done
