I see what you mean. For me, I started getting hyped in the middle of the Joanne era, when it was announced she would do the Superbowl and all the way to the JWT. I loved PI, but its release felt kinda underwhelming to me (but this is a personal feeling)

GaGaAst 13,023
it had just another day. She can release this song and call it a day for entire era. I will be satisfied. Love it when you call me legs In the morning, buy me eggs
TWICE on hatius 4,746
It lacks the theatrical aspects of Gaga, which many of you are clowning her. I’m a Joanne fan, but I did miss the campy, controversial and rough moments missing from Joanne. That being said, I absolutely feel relatable most to Grigio Girls and Joanne. Since I have an aunt whom I love so dearly passed because of breast cancer. Please ignore the spelling in username. I am a Beyonce stan afterall. It would be everything Check out iTunes data & graphs at CHARTPOP.live
Tayko 1,203
For french people the best era was probably A Star is Born to be honnest even street boys listen to her i she was everywhere ARUTW / Shallow / I'll Never Love Again she was every 10 minutes on the radio on every commercial and french show she just slayed my country and i've never been more proud to stan her. In France before A star is Born she was seems like a bad weird gay icon and after the movie like a pure talented vocalist , thank you Bradley 🇫🇷 My english sucks
NCgaga 4,324
Joanne was a Gaga Era. She is an artist and it's what she wanted to do, as an artist. Who the hell are us for saying, "Oh I dont think Joanne was Gaga at all". She's an artist that expresses herself how she wants. That being said, Joanne was the furthest thing from her "brand" that she built, which caused a lot of monsters to yearn for "the old Gaga"- and now say things like, "she's back". She's an artist and a performer. You gotta be on board with that if you want to stan.

Literally a dream... I'm from Chile and here she's an icon, a legend, but she's not so popular nowadays 8 minutes ago, NCgaga said: Joanne was a Gaga Era. That was not my point at all, as I said I LOVE THE JOANNE ALBUM, I really do, I was talking about "the hype" the "expectations"... she's an amazing artist and she's free to release everything she wants to... If she wants to release a christian album I'm here for it you know ... my point it wasn't on the music, the visuals or even the concept, it was something about my perspective... Also can you please stop with constant negativity? That’s not cute at all. Saying Joanne felt more like Gaga is negativity? That means you saying Joanne felt nothing like Gaga is also negativity lol What negative things have I said?

I only commented once on SL, and while I dont like the song, I expressed it in the most respectful way. Not liking a Gaga song is not a negative opinion. Here is what I said: "Stupid Love just proved to me that ill never enjoy her work again like I used to. I just feel completely disconnected from Gaga as a person and an artist. Im not saying what shes releasing is bad, its actually really good but it does not do anything for me. And I think that is fine, we all change and grow and Gaga needs to grow as an artist." 2School4Cool 6,449
I can see where you’re coming from, Joanne in many ways felt less “Gaga” and more “Stefani,” but Joanne is my absolute favorite Gaga album personally, and probably my favorite era as well. I’ve said this on here before, but Gaga taught me to love electronic pop music, and if Gaga never left that sort of sound I would have been perfectly content, however, it was exhilarating for me to see Gaga bring out an era that was stripped back and raw visually and instrumentally. Everything about it felt so close to her heart, not that the same isn’t true for all of her past albums, but with Joanne it was different. It felt to me as if Joanne was an album that had been inside her her whole life, it was just waiting for the right, natural moment to finally come to fruition. The fact that it was so stripped down felt so fresh because it was so unlike everything prior to it, it felt so warm and cozy if that makes sense? At the same time, that’s what makes Chromatica so exciting now, not that it wouldn’t be exciting regardless, but because we’ve had such a different sound from Joanne and ASIB, it’s even more exciting to see this return to electronic pop music. Not only was Joanne my favorite album (so far), I think in a way it was a necessary pallet cleanser and it served a great purpose in her discography.
