(And I mean that sincerely) The “other realm” stuff - I think she tries not to sound too religious or to only talk about one specific belief system even tho she is catholic. It was her essentially repeating thing she has said before - that god wanted her to use her voice for kindness. She's always sort of talked about how her creative process and what she goes through can be quite traumatic and painful. She alluded to it a lot during the Oprah's Next Chapter interview: She talks about the creative process there but I believe she speaks of it again later on when her mom is there about how she basically has to cut everyone off and recede into herself, and that her family and friends get worried but know that's what she has to do. That's another thing that makes me sad with a lot of the fans on here. They hold her to the "Bad Romance" standard, and if she doesn't put out anything like that, they label it a bad song. This girl literally told us recently that she's extremely depressed, sits on her porch and cries daily, is in constant head to toe pain, constantly feels pressure from fans to top her previous stuff, got lost in her fans version of what she SHOULD be versus who she is, had a full blown mental breakdown and was hospitalized....but so the fans give a sht? No. All they want is another Fame Monster. I accept that I personally may not like everything she puts out. But she is the artist, not me, and she should make art that she herself connects with and enjoy. If we don't like it, it doesn't matter, she's creating what she personally likes. I don't think she's having a psychotic break—some of her comments during ARTPOP gave me that vibe, though—but embracing spirituality and using fairies as a metaphor. I know a few people like that in real life...who believe in the healing power of earth and believe in real life ghosts and "wholesome energy." She also might trying to be purposefully kooky...if the album has a whole alien/fantasy vibe. Also, as KTaylor said...it could easily be her just using it as a substitute for Catholicism. Gaga is a religious person so saying “the other realm” I’m sure is her saying that she either left it up to fate what she would sing about, or she felt like God was maybe guiding her down the right path. She seems genuinely excited about preparing to share her new music with the world too. I actually didn’t get the impression she was high (this time ), I kind of felt like she sounded relaxed in the way you do once a big project is done and the pressure is sort of off. PEZ 6,248 Posted March 2, 2020 Share Posted March 2, 2020 While Gaga is undoubtedly religious, I think the fairies and Jesus stuff is mostly colloquial speech that would understandably sound weird if you didn't grow up with it or have the same expressions in your mother tongue. Like if you found your long-lost keys in a spot where they usually wouldn't be someone might say "oh, the fairies must have put them there!" or if you need to have a serious intervention with someone you would have a "come to Jesus talk" with them.
