Fascinating that calling Pete a rat is weaponized against Bernie folks who use the terms but the other side does the same thing to try and bait Sander's supporters into attacking. This is a textbook of gaslighting.

They like to complain about sanders supporters while doing the same thing. They're hypocrites.

It's also really telling that 'unity' only matters if it's for your candidate and not mine.

Again, they're hypocritical and adapt their behavior to the situation. They're just looking for bashing sanders at any chance they get, they prefer to be incoherent than missing a smear lol.

And you want us to vote for your candidate now that you've called us every name in the book...

If you don't vote for someone over the fact you were mocked by a supporter of this candidate then you're quite entitled since your feelings being hurt are way less important than the future of the country.

You are correct, history will show Pete received an inordinate amount of toxic online harassment from Sanders supporters and staffers. He actually continues to, in spite of no longer being in the race.

This site perfectly mirrored that toxicity every opportunity it could, regularly calling him a rat, a weasel, a loser, Mayor Cheat, Pete The Cheat, etc. GGD wasted no time respectfully acknowledging the end of his historic campaign with a thread: Pete Bottoms Out - a thread full of Sander's supporters cackling at cheap gay jokes.

I don't share your views about Biden, but I didn't want the gaslighting by the Sander's supporters in this thread to go unmentioned. The ugliness Sander's loyalists showed to Pete, and other candidates, won't be forgotten regardless of the outcome of this primary.

Thank you for this.

Pete is extremely young, especially in the political world. He will be an asset in the Democratic Party for upcoming decades. I expect to see him around, contributing to the party and the country, for years to come!

The primary always continues. The prediction now is no one will get the 1991 delegates needed to get the nomination so it will be a contested convention .

Does every state counted as one vote, or is it counted by how many people voted nationally?

Would you choose petty online rivalries over policy for the country? I understand the hurt but when voting, shouldn't you be looking at policy and what the person running themselves have said and what their official campaign has said, rather than what people online behind avatars say?

He has never taken cheap shots at other candidates even when his opponents have. His supporters, sure, not not he himself. Or his campaign. It's unfair to disqualify someone because of what some small, loud supporters say.

You and many anti-Sanders folks on GGD used red scare technics borrowed from republicans so talk about "toxic".

What did you do to earn their support by lying about their candidate program? Exactly.

Again with the threats and the movie-like "I'll get my revenge" thing  lol?

You really feel powerful throwing these behind your laptop feeling like you really have all that power don't you?

I love how Sanders get misrepresented every second on the net as a dictator à la URSS who gonna throw everybody in poverty by taking nearly all of their income with both republicans and, sadly, plenty of other dem' candidates supporters spreading it and somehow that's widely ignored again and again.

Meanwhile any bashing coming from a Sanders supporter is denounced then followed by a declaration of empathy for the candidate bashed and a speech about kindness.

I don't know if y'all are sincerely giving your impression or if you really have zero idea about the amount of bashing/ slander sanders is dealing with when you present sanders supporters as the mean ones (or pretty much) facing other supporter bases who globally were just trying to debate.

Even with Mainstream medias, Sanders was litterally compared to the nazis on TV a few days ago... When was Pete, Warren, Bloomberg or Biden compared to nazis on a big TV show? The global adversity he faces is unmatched.

And I won’t forget when thI DNC takes the nomination from Bernie at a contested convention and the person they nominate loses to Trump in a landslide and we get conservative courts for the rest of my lifetime. So I guess we’re even.

Just to be clear.

I said in this thread that I won't be voting for Biden. I've said many times on this forum that I voted for Sanders in the last presidential primary. I've said that I'm a Sanders supporter. (Check my post history if you need evidence.)

My state doesn't vote in the primary until June, as of now my intention is to vote for Sanders.

The fact that you all read a post that was critical of Sander's supporters and assumed it couldn't have been written by a Sander's supporter perfectly illustrates the mob mentality among Sander's loyalists.

I don't call people "white moderates and neoliberals" to dismiss their legitimate criticisms. I'm not spamming pro-Pete, pro-Biden, or pro-Amy posts with sarcastic SAD or LMAO reactions. I'm not belittling Pete's historic campaign, while every queer kid in America watches, by calling him a rat, a cheat, and a loser.

Take a note from Gaga and Sanders, and understand the value of kindness.

Ok. Idk why you quoted me but since you did.

1. I don’t call Pete a rat.

2. When have you ever seen me not use supporting documentation or argue without inserting policy? You haven’t.

3. A primary is not about being kind. It’s about a vigorous contrast of ideas.

4. It is unfair to say that only Bernie has a mob type quality to it. To suggest that is ludicrous.

Sad, I hope he can help out minority communities more and he’s gonna go so so far. Everyone now let’s rally behind the candidate with a multicultural movement! #MeNotUs

Stop trying to take the high road. 12% of Bernie supporters voted for Trump in the general election. Calling people petty because they would rather vote for another Democratic candidate than Bernie is dumb. Warren has a more comprehensive plan for African Americans and teachers. I'd rather voter for her than Bernie any day.

That's a tiny number. And more Clinton supporters voted McCain.

I'm not calling people petty for not supporting Bernie. Don't misframe my comment. I'm calling online quarrels petty. Warren and Bernie have near identical domestic economic policies and Bernie has a better foreign policy. He also has much more support than Warren from the GP and from minorities, and most of his supporters aren't on the internet tweeting. That's just facts.

If you can support Warren's agenda but have something against Bernie, that's just showing you're picking a candidate's personality or likeability over policy.

It was enough for a Trump win and a conservative Supreme Court.

Trump =/= McCain

And those people were wrong to do so. But that doesn't reflect poorly on Bernie like you seem to imply. In fact, it means he could get support from people who otherwise might vote Trump.

As I’ve told you time and time before the margins are so small you can make an argument for almost everything for why Trump won. I maintain that it had more to do with Clinton and corruption and Clinton and trade than Bernie voters going for Trump. Clinton didn’t speak to their issues and Trump lied to them. Simple as that.

Or the 25 per cent of Bernie voters who voted Trump or third party, as I’ve told you time and time before.

So, Hillary was just as impressive for getting as much support from those who went to McCain, right?

They were both candidates with wide appeal, right?

Yes.  But as it turned out, that support wasn't critical because Obama won by a good margin anyway. And like you said, McCain was no Trump.
