ANGRY viewers have hit out at Ant And Dec's Saturday  Night Takeaway by slamming last weekend's Pussycat Dolls sexy performance.

The Sun can exclusively reveal that 68 disgruntled fans took the extreme measure of complaining to Ofcom about the dance - despite the two cheeky hosts holding up "censored" placards during the routine.

The Buttons singers - known for their raunchy routines - put on quite a show when they sang a medley of their hits on the popular ITV show.

During the performance Ant and Dec jokingly ‘censored’ their routine and asked the singers to "tone down" their risque style for their "family friendly" show.

They were poking fun at the band's comeback performance during the final of X Factor: Celebrity which received 802 complaints over its sexualised content.

However, the five-piece ignored their request and in very funny scenes the flustered pair's attempt to use signs and a "censor button" to stop the show failed.

As the recently reunited band took to the stage in revealing black ensembles, Ant and Dec watched from the audience, but as soon as they started gyrating, they headed down to try and put a halt on it.

At one point they even put up a fake sign saying ‘Sorry for the disruption’ but the group just ripped right through it.

Is it really a family friendly show (I never seen the show so I'm legit curious)? Why does everything has to be "family friendly" these days?

I fell down the stairs once as an actor.

The way people clutch their pearls over the most trivial things:saladga:

Some people sadly don't understand the difference between sexy and sensual on one hand and obscene on the other.
Two days ago there was also an article about how there were about 1400 complaints about Shakira and J.Lo's SuperBowl :')

I don't see why they can't perform in appropriate clothing for promo performances. Save the raunchy stuff for videos and touring, but tv shows, especially family ones, are supposed to be for everyone, they aren't fan-centered. Therefore, not everyone who watches you will be feeling what you're saying and doing so you have to keep things neutral any way you can. They look great, they dance great, the song's great, they don't need super suggestive outfits into the bargain. You know their label is encouraging them to do this as well, as it creates more controversy, it's hardly like it's their decision to go against the rules, they're manufactured, they don't have that agency. If anything, it's the inclusion of the highly inappropriate song, Beep, that would have me concerned more than anything they were wearing. Sexual song lyrics are much harder to endure in front of parents than sexy outfits.

Yes, this show has always been family friendly - no swearing, no sexual content, no violence. It's designed to be fun, light-hearted family entertainment hosted by two presenters who were once teen stars themselves and have always had squeaky clean images. At most, like a lot of British shows, there may be very subtle innuendos, but that's it. And actually, yes, things have to be family friendly these days. There should always be family friendly options. It's all very well to say these things when you don't have kids or don't want them. For those of us who do, or even those of us living with our parents and want shows we can watch with them without cringing, there's a depressingly low amount of such shows left now. Who wants to watch a pop performance on tv while their dad awkwardly places a cushion on this crotch?

Sexy and sensual are sadly missing these days. I think a lot of people have lost sight of the real definition of these words - subtle, suggestive. Now it's eye-popping cleavage, high cut leotards, finger licking, thigh spreading, crotch grabbing. This is overtly sexual, not sensual. And it is borderline obscene. I think the SB was ok and actually embodied the sensual thing I just brought up (though more on Shakira's side than J-Lo's) but PCD push it way too much for the sake of it.

I mean... when you invite someone to perform & then ruin it by saying it should be censored it gives others the permission to complain & say the same thing.
