I’m listening to this at work and it’s making me so emotional for some reason, I’m tearing up at my desk! I’m just so happy to hear her again, and to listen to her talk about her music. She sounds so…free, like she’s not being held back by herself or anyone else.

I’m so excited for this album. I love the song, I love the video; I can’t wait to hear her talk more about it – hope she goes in the studio with Zane for a big interview. What a great day.

I’ll admit I was skeptical of Max Martin. But ya know good for Gaga for recognizing that there was nothing inherently wrong with talking to him and putting pride aside.

Thank you. This is what I love about the MV. It isn't trying to be something it isn't. I loved that it was strictly just a MV for the song. Just dancing and Gaga looking like she's having fun. We can't ask for more.

She seems a lot more...open about sharing her musical process with other producers/songwriters and that’s cool to hear!

She has always been quite guarded about working with other popular producers and it’s exciting to hear her talk about working with Max Martin, I really hope we get more songs from them!!

I need a bit more explanation with him. Maybe I’m just completely forgetting something, but why is it a big deal that she worked with him? She said in the interview, “I needed to stop acting like an asshole”. Did she have a rocky relationship with him or something?

Nah, Gaga has just always stayed away from the big pop producers and has mentioned in the past that she wouldn’t go to those types of producers. It seems like Max has pursued working with her in the past but she’s turned it down until now.

So Max Martin is known as *the* pop producer. When you think of someone who manufactures and churns out hits, it's Max Martin. That's just his thing. If you want a hit, you go to him. He's worked with basically everybody and you don't need to bring much of yourself because he's been in this game so long that he can give you a surefire hit. He's done it for Britney, Taylor, Katy, and the list goes on. He's the person everyone lambasts when they say what's wrong with pop music being generic and a machine even though they still bop to Baby One More Time.

So for someone like Gaga who prides herself on songwriting and being *actively* a part of the writing and overall vision execution, I could see where she would equate working with him to being like lip-syncing. She wants to stand apart.

I love that she’s reached a point in her life/career where she’s confident enough to accept that working with him doesn’t have to mean she’s giving up her own creative control. 

Power to her, we stan a queen who is sure of her talent and isn’t afraid it can be squashed out of her.
