I’m so angry. SL has 3,5M views, while effing J Balvin has 5M, both releases with very few hours of difference apart. My country eats up reggaeton so bad it’s sick. Reggaeton in my country is a full streaming force so I highly doubt SL will get her #1 here but oh well she’ll get it in the US which is more important after all. Okay I’m not angry anymore. But I still heavily dislike reggaeton music.

It's not my most favourite single from her, that's for sure, but then, I've never really been a big fan of Gaga's lead singles (BR and Shallow have been the only ones I ever loved immediately but they usually need time to grow on me). I'm listening to it over and over and it's getting there, though. I love the verses but the bridge is just too juvenile and generic. I quite like the instrumental in the chorus but I kinda preferred it without the vocals at the beginning. As for the video, well...not my thing. I know it's meant to be silly and campy but it just doesn't do it for me. She looks amazing though but I think the video was more about fan service than anything (especially that butt shot with the words "look at me!") Now, don't get me wrong, this is going to be a track that's made for workout playlists and is designed for radio play. As one reviewer said, they can imagine this song being blasted out of a gay club as well as out of car speakers with the top down while speeding down the motorway. I'm sure the public will like it. But I was expecting something more as a fan of Gaga's next-level pop prowess. It's not bad by any means but I hoped the chorus would be as awesome as the verses at least. But hey, sometimes, me not liking the lead single is usually a sign that I'm going to love the rest of the album. And as I said, I'm usually not wild for Gaga's lead singles but I have faith that the rest of the album will be good.

The views make absolutely no sense, sorry, but youtube/youtube algorithm is ... sabotaging us?

450k likes and only 3M views? BITCH as IF.

Yes and no. It takes a while for the views to replenish and display correctly (not sure about likes, though). It usually takes well over 24 hours before we get close to the actual total. The real total only displays if there's not many viewers. The more people who watch it at once, the more the system temporarily jams. The fact that the views are so low is actually a good thing as it shows that a lot must be watching to make the views be that low despite it being #2 on trending (just jumped up!) and clearly so many people watching it. But the key is to want high likes despite surprisingly high views. The bigger an artist is, the more their fans will like the video within the first few days, so it's not unusual to see big names get 1 million likes within the first 2 days but their views are quite low, all things considered. But that's good - it shows that the majority of people who watched liked it enough to login and give it a like. It's when your video has super high views but super low likes that it's time to be concerned as your fanbase clearly isn't as enthralled.

If your first time hearing the song was thru the music video, what was your reaction??

Loved the opening music and verse but it all died away after that when the bridge and chorus crept in. I like it a bit more now but initial reaction was one of being underwhelmed and I just watched with a serious face throughout. Video wise, there wasn't a lot going on or a big story to pull me in or get a reaction out of me. I was definitely expecting something better on that front. But I know she'll do better than this as the era goes on.

And Residente is coming for Stupid Love too. But Residente's song is deep and super good.

song is flat with no chorus, it starts suddenly with no intro and there is nothing special in song, like you listened to nothing after it's finished, its not eventful.

and video is like a homemade video, everything from outfits to messy choreography screams homey.

the whole era feels forced and uninspired, she lost her touch somehow through and after ARTPOP.

I'm not judging her and her art, but as someone who listened to her since JT I'm just stating my opinion and to be honest the number of years that I haven't enjoyed Gaga as an artist  have surpassed the number of years I really enjoyed her artistry.

it would be better for her to start an era when really feels inspired and has something new and enjoyable, she used to travel the world and create her best songs from getting inspiration from different nation, now she is just at US.

Well lord, why don't you move on then? Its okay to outgrow an artist, just like it's okay for Gaga to outgrow her early audience who were there for the "crazy" persona. I don't really get why you're still around to be honest. Same goes for if the rest of you. Gaga has changed, and this is the music she wants to put out.

I used to stan a boyband but I hit older, got into different music. I didn't even bother going to their reunion shows 10 years later. I just had no interest, but that's my issue. Not theirs.

If the video looked like this then maybe it would be decent. This is a great example for ya’ll who cant ser how detrimental the iphone choice was, and how there is a very evident lack of cinematography awareness in all aspects of direction, camera, editing and movement in the music video. You cant see Stupid Love and say its “good” after seeing Rihannas take on a similar location and almost exact concept but providing actual results.

I saw this video and it made me more underwhelmed by Gaga’s production. The CGI is bad (and even if its on purpose, in this day and era a bad CGI wont be pleasant to the eyes) The camera movements are to extreme (why are the dancer groups all towards one side of the frame? Why is gaga’s left side of her body cut off screen? What ever happen to frame composition and visual balance?) what ever happen to interesting lightning? I know this was shot in a desert with natural light, but come con...these people studied to avoid harsh light sources ruin shots like that. Did they even screen test the outfits? Why is her whole face blacked out by the head Visor in the third outfit? Did no one think about that or did she not want the audience to be able to see her sing?
theres too many “mistakes” or “artistic choices” that in the end, from a technical and narrative perspective just dont work. And as an artist they should know that sometimes you have to bend the  concept that you see in your head in order for it to translate well into the final product!

You completely missed the point he/she was trying to put across in here...

Guys, chill out. It’s supposed to be fun, wacky even, and appeal to the general public. As someone said here, it’s going to be in every workout playlist and gay club out there for a while. Just wait for it and enjoy the music and video :) (or if you don’t go hear something else, that’s fine too).

Thing is: nothing is ever going to please each and every one of us. Some people love The Fame era, which I personally dislike. Some hate ARTPOP, some think it’s the best thing ever. Some like artsy Gaga, some like pop girl Gaga. She’s delivering all of that throughout her career. Let’s just accept some things will be our kind of content, and others won’t - and for those, let people enjoy them. Complaining and badmouthing it is not going to make her take the video away and release something else instead.

I didn't know about this video. This is pretty much how I was expecting the Stupid Love video to be.

But I love what we got and how fun it is and that it's not supposed to be serious. I think that's the whole point. :)

Also, I love the diversity of the dancers. Not just in racial makeup, but also in body. That's not something her videos have really taken on yet, so it's exciting to me!

Yaassss I noticed that too! The one dancer in the black outfit was killing it :firega:

Man, I’ve been a Gaga fan for years. Once I saw the BR video, I was hooked and rarely have I been disappointed since. There are certain artists I “trust” to put out consistently good material. I thought Gaga was one of them. But between the MR video, enigma, and now this generic (IMO) song and seemingly low budget MV, I just don’t know anymore. I’ll always love Gaga and I just want her to be happy doing what she loves. But it might be time for me to unstan. I’m genuinely happy to see so many people enjoying it though. Perhaps my taste in music has evolved over time .

I feel like we come to expect a level of quality from Gaga that her and her team are no longer capable of delivering.

For a MV essentially subsidized by Apple, I was expecting a lot higher of a budget/production value, even despite it being filmed on an iPhone. I hope this video was a solitary blunder and not a glimpse to where we’re headed.

I love her with all my heart, I truly do, but damn that was a let down. The video didn't really serve a purpose at all. It was just generic dancing with bad angles and a set that felt flat. I don't get why it's so hard for her to put out a good video ever since G.U.Y that does not look like she was on a budget :messga:

The looks were ok, the dancing was... whatever. But what were those lackluster scenes and weird angles and cuts. It all looks so random and rushed. Literally nothing was worthy of rewatching. And to top it of it serves a generic Rita Ora teas song that was leaked in advance. Now sure, that was not Gaga's fault. But they waited way too long and ugh. Here's to a better second video (and song).
