Eh, monsters are always messy bishes on social media (even when fans ask them to chill)...remember how they trashed PI so much the media picked up on it? However, Billboard is running with a "Gaga's monsters love SL" so that will help considering they get cited by other sites all the time.

As far as FB of radio stations...Gaga's always been polarizing and social media in general is messy. Singers have it even worse, because of stan wars....

Gaga wasn't ever going to make everyone happy. Her base is like 20% only here for Joanne/ASIB music, 10% mad she isn't doing ARTPOP/TFM again, 40% "you better give us dance music or we'll unstan," and the rest fine with whatever. A You and I style ballad may have pleased everyone, but I think this angle makes sense for a couple of reasons....

1) She clearly likes making fun, dance pop and it will satisfy a large part of her base.

2) The crazy ageism in the industry. Very few "true" pop artists keep going as strictly pop after 35..and many have a major downslide around that age (see, Katy and Robyn). The streaming services tend to favor artists with a younger fan base than Gaga's since they make up the bulk of streaming customers...

Taylor also talked about the ageism in her documentary and how Lover might be one of her last chances to have a huge opening. As crazy as it is, this might be Gaga's last shot at making a true, pure dance pop album as I could see Interscope trying to shift her in a different direction (soft rock like ASIB/Joanne, maybe even dream pop or something like FKA twigs) because of the ageism issue in the industry...
