She looks like she’s about to tell a kid throwing a tantrum that their behaviour is unasseptable

If Jack was alive, he would've creamed himself with this GIF.

The truth is that she doesn’t wanna flop after going highs and lows to have a good come back, making a film and going country and Jazz only to come back and flop again. She could’ve released an album anyway because that doesn’t negate with “focusing on important things”.

If Gaga truly truly truly cared about slaying the charts and having enormous commerical success, SL wouldn't exist.

What is Stupid Love? A song that is basically an amalgamation of past hits by her and some of today’s beats. Is it some experimental piece of art? Lyrical masterpiece? Anything special? No. It was made to chart and it did chart No.1 but it leaked over a month prior and COVD-19 hit so it was doomed.

If Gaga didn’t care about chart then you’d hear her making singles as weird as her image is, something experimental, some turn where she showcases her vocal and visual talents, not bubblegum pop with homemade recreations of past looks and an iPhone shot video that lacks any semblance of inspiration.

SL is the definition of radio fodder. And that explains why it’s doing very well on radio. It’s production, it’s lyrics, the pitched vocal sample, it was definitely created with radio trends in mind.

You’re absolutely right. :teehee:

I enjoy it but it’s anything but groundbreaking. Which is fine.

(although I like the video and looks, kind of techno scene inspired)

We can not honestly sit here and say that SL charted extremely well and then fell off because of coronavirus when majority of the other people on the charts have been unaffected. And the song peaked at #5 (which is still great), and then plummeted down. The only thing that is keeping it alive is radio, which is apparently already fading.

I like SL, but some radio friendly commerical track it is not.

And I'm not sure how you think her homaging campy sci-fi in the video equates to lack of inspiration, or that shooting it with an iPhone during a time where technology is trying to showcase how close our personal cell cameras can get to ridiculously overpriced camera equipment is a bad thing.

Didn't they just note in the chart thread how it didn't even show up on radio call outs? I will fully admit that I don't know exactly how radio works on relation to a song being a "hit" as it's technically the radio stations choice to push a song versus a demand from the audience. If people are confined inside and not streaming or purchasing a song, other than stans, who is demanding the song to be played on radio?

Agreed.

Not liking a music video does not equate to the artist not being inspired.

It means one simply does not enjoy the choice of aesthetic.
