Although the unofficial cover does have such a cool finish on the Chromatica symbol, and you can see more details where it has been war-torn and damaged and it suits the "chrome" idea... The official cover looks so much better from further away as well as up close, the other one is such a dark cover that some of the details get a little muddy. The official symbol is more striking and the filter that they decided to use in the official makes it seem so much cooler, I can't out my finger on why. (it has a kind of epic graphic novel cover feel, or an older movie poster feel like Conan the Barbarian - not similar in theme but in texture and art style) It's got all the futurism but through the lens of an older movie, it's got a much more classic gorgeous pallette to it. It's not stretch marks, it's texture. It's meant to look like wrought iron. It would make literally 0 sense for them to make an inflatableĀ which they would have to digitally alter anyways.
