Former Vice President Joe Biden has an 18-point lead over his Democratic presidential primary opponents in South Carolina, according to a poll released Wednesday. Biden has 35 percent support in the Clemson University poll released just days ahead of Saturday’s South Carolina primary.  Businessman Tom Steyer, who has focused much of his campaign on South Carolina, pulled in a distant second at 17 percent support in the poll.  Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), the leading candidate in the race after three nominating contests, trails Steyer in the poll by 4 points at 13 percent support

Another poll showing Biden as a clear front runner. Very surprised at Sanders' numbers.

South Carolina is going to have more than 4% of its electorate be under 24 and this poll is over sampling older voters by a country mile. I would take this poll with a grain of salt while keeping in mind that Biden is the favorite to win, even if not by the margin the poll suggests. Tom Steyer also had several polls that had him beating Bernie in NV or up there with Biden but got single digits. So, with Steyer, I think the 15% avg of polls is more accurate there bc his support is soft and is based on the purchasing power of his ad blizt. I say all of this to suggest that Biden/Bernie/Tom are going to be separated by less than 5 points or 10 point intervals (i.e. biden 24, Bernie 19, Steyer 15).

We'll see on Saturday though. :vegas:

"Palmetto Poll has developed a reputation for accuracy because it samples voters who cast ballots in the last primary, newly registered voters and voters who say they are going to vote in the upcoming primary."

Looking more and more like Sanders is having a black voter support problem.

Looking more and more like you're perpetuating something that is categorically untrue and like you're treating a demographic of people like a monolith. He didn't have a problem with POC in Iowa, New Hampshire (obviously a smaller pool of voters) and also in Nevada.

The more accurate statement is that Bernie, while liked by the older, conservative black electorate in south carolina, he's just not their guy. And in poll after poll after poll, nationwide Bernie is now either leading with AA voters or is just behind Biden.

Other candidates still haven't gotten over 8% support with black voters despite being in the race for over a year. what do you call that?

Actually not. SC democratic primary voters are 64% black. Sanders is only picking up 13% statewide. I've provided the receipts. Whether you choose to believe them or not.. well, that's up to you.

https://surveyresearch-ecu.reportablenews.com/pr/biden-maintains-lead-in-south-carolina-sanders-in-second-steyer-a-close-third

Of the remaining Democratic presidential candidates competing in the South Carolina primary, Biden (31%) is followed by Bernie Sanders at 23%, Tom Steyer at 20%, Elizabeth Warren at 8%, Pete Buttigieg at 6%, Amy Klobuchar at 2%, and Tulsi Gabbard at 2%.

In the most recent ECU Poll, Biden continues to win support from African American voters in South Carolina (n=695, +/- 4.3). Biden leads all candidates among African American voters at 34%. Tom Steyer is in second with 24%, followed by Bernie Sanders (22%), Elizabeth Warren (6%), Pete Buttigieg (2%), Tulsi Gabbard (2%), and Amy Klobuchar (less than 1%).

There are also differences among African American voters by age. Younger African Americans (ages 18-34) favor Tom Steyer (34%) and Bernie Sanders (24%), with Joe Biden a distant third (12%) and Elizabeth Warren (9%) in fourth. (The remaining candidates are all below 5%.) Among African Americans age 35 and older, Biden leads with 40%, followed by Steyer and Sanders with 21% each. (The remaining candidates are all below 5%.)

Pg. 14. Biden with 35% of AA support and Bernie with 23%.

I mean, I've provided receipts that there isn't a problem with black voters and well, if you're capable of recognizing that 1 poll is unlike the others, well, that's up to you.... (:

538 also has Bernice taking every Super Tuesday state but Alabama. He has glorious chances in California and good chances in Texas.

SC has bad taste.:lolga:
