How is Haus Labs a cash grab?

Because she knows as well as many of us do that she could have easily put the same kind of message in an artistic project. Instead she chose a commercial route. "Cash grab" is too strong a word but at the end of the day she really cares about selling these semi-useless products. Yes, it's also her passion project, but that just shows how confused she is these days :smh: She really thinks she can save the world while still playing the businesswoman. I mean, that's fine, but imo she should just focus on the product instead of pretending it's more than what it is: a strategy to make money.

The stupidity in this thread is sad. Whatever she does is HER thing. Whatever message she wants to convey through her brand is HER thing. If you're not a makeup consumer, don't buy it. If you don't like the product, don't buy it. Does it even concern you? No.

Anyways, her makeup products are of good quality. Anyone who has used them would actually know. If you scroll through the actual product reviews, you'd know people of all ages actually purchase the product because they're good. Opinions from reddit users and so-called make-up enthusiasts don't matter, especially when they have NOT EVEN USED THE PRODUCTS.

Also I’m kwite ok if she never makes music ever again and just becomes a full-time make up, fashion and beauty billionairess :queenga:

Like, we already got LG1-LG5 which is more than enough, and in all honesty we don’t deserve LG6 :icega:

Gaga's passionate about Haus Labs... Didn't somebody here say that one of their hair stylist(?) in Vegas told them that Gaga's looking up at Haus Labs online for the people's reactions?

I don't see the problem here:oops:

What I see as a problem though is how people though Gaga's a greedy **** like what the heck!? I'd never ever imagine someone saying that about Gaga tbh, let alone, a forum dedicated to her...

That was me. The woman who did my sister's nails at the Park MGM Salon told my sister that when Gaga  goes in to have her nails done, she watches YouTube videos of ordinary people (non-influencers) using Haus Labs products, and she gets super excited about the looks they create. She said that Gaga truly loves Haus Labs and is genuinely passionate about it.

Do you know that if you made 8K $ per day since the French revolution in 1789 you'd still be less rich than Mr LVMH ?

hello hello baby.

There’s a difference between not liking the colors and something being bad quality though. HL is good quality and probably could have gotten away with a slightly higher price point. Colors are just purely about preference. Some people want stuff that’s all bright and bold. Some people want stuff that they can actually wear in real life. Neither are wrong, but wanting different colors isn’t really a legitimate criticism of the brand. Especially when it’s still pretty new and they keep adding more colors and products

I disagree, the industry is extremely saturated, and its extremely hard to stand out in it at this point. And selling shades that you can find in pretty much every other brand out there from the cheapest to the most expensive and trusted, isnt going to make HL stand out. Its not just "not liking the colors", its "I can find these colors everywhere".

Every makeup user out there already has their own favourite brands, whats in HL that will make them give it a chance? Wheres the "first ever black eau da parfum" of the makeup line?

Some fans are just really impatient for new music. And instead of releasing anything music related, Gaga focused on HL. That’s 90% of the fans trashing on HL and calling it a cash grab. My sister likes it. Ordered her a set for her birthday. The products are high quality products and the criticism comes only from the fact that they expected something revolutionary from Gaga while the products they released were a little too basic and nothing unique from other brands. And also to that supposed HL defender comparing it to Fenty, it’s not the same thing. Haus Labs is owned and backed by Gaga while Fenty Beauty is backed by LVMH, a big company. It’s not the same thing. One is backed by a big brand. So cut that comparison sh*t no one asked for. Thank you.

Does it matter? Damage is done

The reason is in the ad, literally the first line "the last thing the world needs is another beauty brand, but that's too bad". She knows she ain't breaking no record, ain't releasing no groundbreaking products, ain't changing no life. She settled for mediocrity and sugar coated it with "we are unique and hi monsters I love you kindness bla bla" and it's all words, I can come up with other brands with the same message so it ain't even that unique.

All i personally know about this, is that my sister and my friend really liked it. Said it's good quality and very easy to use.

I don’t disagree, but that’s something that can be said about 95% of makeup brands. Unless the people trashing HL are trashing every other makeup brand too, then that’s not really an argument. The only brands I can even think of off the top of my head that are impressive for color ranges are Fenty for foundation (and more brands are starting to expand their foundation shades so it’s not the only one anymore), and then maybe MAC and Urban Decay for other stuff. Every other brand is pretty basic in comparison, so why does anyone buy any of them?

I know it sounds dumb to say about a makeup brand, and I don’t expect anyone who hasn’t experienced it to understand, but HL has had a huge impact on me and the way I see myself. The message of empowerment and self love through makeup is very real for some of us, just like some people were impacted by that message through her music

reality’s tight if the music is right

Of course it's a cash crab. Gaga never said anything positive about the perfumes she had to sell. She said I am an artist I love to make music. So starting a make-up brand just feels very commercial to me. Don't get me wrong I still love the pictures and stuff but it's a waste of time... Imagine how much time it all takes for her and how little most of us care about some new lipsticks. I love Gaga as a person and for her artistry but this make-up thing seems like a huge cash grab to me and I do not give a **** about it.I don't follow hauslabs on socials and stuff that's how little I care about it.

But the people I knew that bought it are very happy with it and I guess that's all that matters right.

Dont assume that only non-makeup users criticize the brand, if anything you should look for opinions on unbiased forums. Remember those reddit threads a few months ago? All unbiased makeup fans on makeup subreddits, you could barely find a positive comment in there. And the general opinion was that it was boring and the opposite of what they expected from someone like Gaga.

But that's the thing, my comment was only aimed to those non-makeup users who are hating on the products just cuz Gaga chose to focus more on her makeup brand and not her music. It's totally understandable if makeup users or people who know a lot about makeup criticize it. That's their thing and they probably know what they're talking about. But it's a different story when you hate on the products and call the company a cash grab when you haven't even tried them. That's just petty and stupid. It's kinda like Trump saying Parasite didn't deserve to win best picture at the Oscars then admitting to have never watched the film (:triggered:) before. And disclaimer, I wasn't comparing people to Trump, I was just using that specific situation as an example. And the positive reviews I was talking about weren't from here or any Gaga fansites out there. They're from either makeup users or non-sponsored makeup gurus. What's 20 to 50 negative reviews when you got hundreds of positive ones? One subreddit full of negative reviews is not the 'general opinion'.

Ugh, first you said its an unvalid criticism, now that its not really an argument, if all youre going to do is deflect with that bs, theres no point in keeping a conversation with you. Have a nice day

because make up kits as a product have little or no artistic value, especially compared to music or movies.... The only purpose of this is to sell a product....
