Jeremy Kosinski 148
Some of yall just need to stop with the witch hunts already cuz he's truly not wrong. I have panic disorder and sure sometimes it comes out of nowhere at all for no reason at all but I've found that even if it isn't created by worry or stressors it can be worsened by not having healthy focus exercises. I was so addicted to xanax back in 06 & not the ohh I'm a get high addicted type but the physical dependent type cuz the idiot psychiatrist told me don't wait til you are in a full attack if you feel 1 coming on take your pill that's what it's for... & i was literally takin 8+ 1mg pills a day & the asshat jag**** kept filling my scrips not telling me yea you probably shouldn't be taking 10mg of xanax a day so yup then suddenly pulled them from me out of nowhere i stg i almost died. I have fibromyalgia & other chronic pain issues so i was also on opiates for 10 years , (the xannies i was only on for a yr) and got pulled the same way & withdrawaled from both & hands down xanax was the harder withdrawal without a doubt & I'm telling you that was the best decision ever cuz since then i rarely have panic attacks i have anxiety and an occasional anxiety attack but i can control it and stop it within a cpl minutes by doing what he said in his tweet. Some of you need to stop taking things so goddamn fuccking literal. Because any therapist and any psychiatrist would tell you the same thing. He wasn't discrediting those of us that have anxiety disorders he was 100% speaking truth. Our anxiety is made worst the more we focus on it. If you feel the tinge of an attack starting and you don't try to focus on literally anything else in the world other than "uh-oh I'm getting an attack ohshitohshitohshitoh****mylife************" you are going to go from an onset anxiety episode into a full fledged panic attack in less than a minute and if you think about it you'll realize these are facts. Third, you don’t get to tell me that I’m being sensitive when I’m talking about real mental issues that are actually relevant to me and my existence. Take sever seats Jasper! The first thing you do is saying that he’s lying. You making this whole tweet about yourself. It’s just a nice message in general.

Shaney 5,515
People who actually suffer from deep-rooted anxiety disorders experience hormone imbalances, increased adrenaline levels throughout the day, and mood swings that can be triggered by an event or literally nothing at all. Speaking as someone with CPTSD. I’m sure a walk in the park will solve these things.... I don’t find those tweets problematic, but they are certainly annoying to people who have had long-term anxiety issues. you’re lucky if you get to experience this surface level anxiety that Jake speaks of. Quartz 12,536
'talk to a friend' He didn't lie though. You can snowball into deeper anxiety if you don't share it with anyone. Nobody's going to support you to get the help you need. Why are people triggered? Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

Because in some cases this is not going to solve a problem or help, for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safety_behaviors_(anxiety) Psychologist and psychiatrists fight a long fight to spread awareness and knowledge and some popular guy like this can ruin everything by spreading just lies. It sickens me.

No, a therapist would tell someone who is diagnosed with anxiety/panic disorder to 1) go to weekly/biweekly/monthly sessions with a professional trained to conduct any number of therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and 2) to take anxiety medication. If you aren’t diagnosed with anxiety/panic disorder, and just get anxious every now and then, then YES, follow Jake’s “advice,” but if you are actually diagnosed, then that “advice” is garbage. ryhanna 3,507
That's hardly advice for treating an anxiety disorder, but it is certainly a good way to live in general. Surface level things anyone can do to try and improve their mood. But it's not gonna cure ur anxiety lol.
