Maleficent 6
saw this earlier and it was shocking tbh. Happy he gets to live is truth, but i hope his wife’s heartbreak heals quickly. 27 years is a long time, and no matter his reason for leaving her, she did give him”the best years of her life”
Gabe 2,433
Being a Canadian and casually seeing him here and there, I assumed he was already out and gay. Goes to show never to assume anything of anyone. Good for him for the courage of doing so.
Guest
We been knew I still think it's a little cruel to get with a woman if you're a gay man but I understand the pressures of society from his time. Hopefully now we'll have less situations like this

PunkTheFunk 124,471
I feel happy and sad for him. Sad that he had to hide his truth for so long, but happy that he can finally share it with the world. It's never too late to be yourself!

StrawberryBlond 14,890
I always feel the wife in situations like this. The man's decision may have been brave and all but it's wrong that he's hailed as some sort of brave hero while there's usually next to no regard for the wife who's left to pick up the pieces. He'll be the one getting all the hugs on tv while she'll have to rely on them behind the scenes and her struggle won't be picked up on. Because of who she was, no one had any support for Kris Jenner when Caitlyn came out. I still feel sorry for her, even though she may not be the best of people. 27 years is a long time and you'll feel so betrayed to have given the best years of your life to someone who wasn't who you thought they were. She'll now be wondering if he was ever truly attracted to her and if every intimate moment of their life was all a lie, a sham, an illusion. At least they got 2 daughters out of it so it wasn't a complete waste but it'll still feel like that to her. I realise that men who had inklings of being gay back when they got married felt they couldn't come out when there was less acceptance. But did he really have to wait until 2020? Wasn't there enough acceptance 10 years ago? His daughters are in their 20's, couldn't he have revealed it when they turned 18? Because, that leads onto the next pressing matter...his timing is very convenient. He's admitted this just as rumours about his egotistic backstage behaviour have reached fever pitch. Ruth Langsford and Amanda Holden have taken issue with him recently and there's been reports of his unreasonable attitude from backstage workers. Its been slowly trickling out for the last few months. And now, right after the tv awards, this is when he chooses to do it. He says himself no one forced him into doing this. Did he pick this time in the hopes it would make everyone conveniently forget about all the rumours? Because its not what people are talking about anymore, just his coming out. After everything Phillip's achieved, all the shows that he's on, all the money he's made, you don't get that far by playing nice. To come out just as his Mr Nice Guy image was starting to crumble is very timely. Now, he can be hailed as brave and claim that anyone who dislikes him or complains about him now is homophobic. Trust me, I don't want this to be true but crazier stuff has happened. I hope I'm proved wrong.
