Gov Hooka

That was absolutely awful and sickening to see :(

Coupled with the fact that thousands of animals are endangered around the world because of the black market in China for products related to traditional Chinese medicine...

And the poultry farms in the US are equally awful... the way the chickens here are treated :(

It's not like eating a big cow or pig, these are animals that have been appropriately bred for living and in most societies they're a result of the past, being seen as friends not food

insight

I think they are burying chickens because of the aviary flu. You either bury or incinerate them to  prevent the spread of the infection. It's standard practice. Same goes for the pork flu or pork African pest.

I understand. But aren’t a lot of species of animals domesticated in a way that are meant to be amiable to humans and easy to control? But we still eat them nonetheless? Idk, it just seems like we valourize dogs above other animals because we keep them as pets and tend to forget some populations in China may not do the same.

Is it related to the virus? Sorry I can’t watch it

They found a disease inside the birds, it is called ‘H5N1’, they are killing the chickens to avoid a second mass virus. The disease can have an up to 60% mortality rate if transmitted to humans. China can already barely handle coronavirus, if this bird virus becomes an outbreak, things will NOT be looking good.

It's different wherever you live, see I live in the UK so it's very obscene here as it simply isn't a part of our culture or something we'd think of eating. Just a matter of what meats are actually naturally appropriate for us to consume. Just because something is living meat doesn't mean it's appropriate to be eaten, dogs are mostly small, most have barley any meat anyway. But it really is a matter of where you live and if it's normalised there by society, it's a big world.

Nah, dogs were literally bred over thousands of years to be companions to us.

I'm 100% here for "veganize the world", all animals' lives matter, but we can't pretend that dogs and cats are of equal/less value than animals thar were bred to be food or labor.

I'm not here for that :poot:

Dogs =/= food

Idc where you're from, that sh*t is evil :excuseu:

Whimsical bitch
