He's the first (and likely only) Republican senator to go against the GOP for the removal of Trump from office. He is totally conservative but he is not racist, not xenophobic, not islamaphobic etc...unlike many in the republican party at the moment. I really hope he manages to help temper the Republican party back to what it was before Trump (yes I know the party always was too conservative for my liking and many of you here but at least it wasn't as blatantly racist and right wing ish as it is now).
