djBuffoon 12,125
I can't help but agree. Louis, Liam, and Zayn could not be more boring as performers or vocalists. Niall has a lot of potential, his songs are magnetic and he's got personality. But Harry is, I think, the one who arrived ready for a solo career. TWICE on hatius 4,746
Btw, while you’re trashing that male artist over a pitchfork article, just remember last month they slandered ARUTW as an emotionless ballad and was the worst candidate for SOTY. Please ignore the spelling in username. I am a Beyonce stan afterall.
retroglamx 5,177
I usually agree with Pitchfork's reviews. Honesty is highly appreciated in my town gurl. Sometimes they lack objectivity but it's not something recurrent so I'm good with that. Pink flamingos always fascinated me.
CannaeDrive 3,412
Yeah, that old saw that P*tchf*** constantly over use to make their points the most harmful is getting blunt, rusted and annoyingly screechy "Fame Is A Boomerang" - Maria Callas
KingRedd 3,139
The “drag” was basic af... pitchfork can do better. He’s a good guy from what I know, don’t really listen to his music but he made an impact in a huge band. I guess I’m just getting older because the more I see drags the more lame they tend to seem. StrawberryBlond 14,923
He's just one step above Liam in terms of talent. At least he writes all his own music, I'll give him that. But this Oasis-lite sound is so cliche and he thinks he's being authentic. This may be controversial of me to say but I'm amazed that despite his mum and sister dying before this album got made, he's devoted a single song to both of them and for the rest of the album, he's singing about his ex-girlfriend and reunion with this current girlfriend. Not even a song referencing his 4 year old son. He even mentored a contestant on X Factor (and contacted the guy when he previously auditioned on the show to give him help) who relapsed on drugs and yet, no song there for him. I really thought for someone who's life's been such a whirlwind in the last few years could turn out such an uneventful album with so little diverse subject matter. It seems like some artists are programmed to only write about romance and not much else, no matter what happens to them in life. With all the grief he's been through, he could have turned out a truly deep album but no, just the same old predictability of your UK male 20-something solo star. Now that every member of 1D has now released a solo album, I think it's clear that solo stardom is not the calling of all band members. More of them really need to realise this. As expected, everyone called it right with Harry and Zayn being the major stars, the others should just be glad to still have name association. Hades 27,980
The only way for him to stay relevant for a hot minute is to say sth like: me and Harry ****ed in every single way.
