Katy over a 11x Grammy & Academy Award winner. :wtfga:

When will you all understand that at the end chart success is way more important that a few awards.

I understand. I was being sarcastic.

If you consider what Gaga received as a “few awards” you’re cancelled. :ladyhaha:

This metric doesn't just check peaks though. It also checks how many weeks a song stays charting and how high. MR peaked #4 but it didn't have enough staying power in the top 10. Post Malone in comparison came in with several juggernaut songs that peaked high and stayed high on the charts.

My point is that their formula seems to be inconsistent and incoherent. If it were a single metric like total number of weeks in te top 10, then such a list would be easily verifiable. There would be no need to “unveil” the top 5, as anyone with the data could do the computation themselves.

Their formula is obvsiously a weighted average. And their bias is showing. This is a simple application of the bias-variance tradeoff in mathematical statistics. Basically they cherry-picked the weights of each metric to produce the list they wanted. A case of reverse engineering.

Yeah but after 2011 she literally only had a handful of hit... The Majority if the decade she literally had almost no hits so that comment was not far off :awkney:

Her peak from late 2008 to 2011 in terms of hits and album sales was huge but after that u gotta admit she performed far below many of her top tier peers the majority of the decade up until Shallow and ASIB

Her career overall has been amazing but I don't think that user was totally off

Her career this decade started with a massive bang and ended with a massive bang. She had two very big bangs, with a quiet but productive middle period so I still can’t see how she would not at least be in the top 10. If she had a massive middle-part-of-the-decade she would be top 3, at least. So they’re penalising her for that, which is not surprising because it is Billboard.

it still  pales in comparison to the chart achievements of the top 10. Her placement makes complete sense. she only had two number ones and like ten top tens. the people above her on the list had more

The formula Billboard used obviously gave more weight to durational statistics than cumulative statistics. Which clearly favours songs that got major push by their labels, whereas Gagz got hardly any radio support after 2013.

Of course I think gaga should be higher, but the fact that Beyonce is at number 24 automatically makes this list horse sh*t.

beyonce's biggest hit this decade was telephone :toofunny:

this is a list purely based on chart performance, it has nothing to do with talent
