It's not so fair to compare a 2020 YouTube video to a 2017 one, though. Whilst only three years ago, viewing figures have increased drastically in that time frame on YouTube and on streaming platforms in general. For example, Gaga's interview on Jimmy Kimmel got 20m views, which in 2017 would've been unthinkable for a pretty standard interview. Gaga also got an extra 57M on FB, too, btw. Maroon 5's only has 14M and that was in 2019. This just shows the global impact these ladies have.

We see it with songs like Old Town Road, ect. I mean, up until this half time, Gaga's was considered super viral. Yet when compared to this, it isn't. I just think streaming figures have inflated hugely in the past three years. And Maroon 5 isn't the best example, since they don't have the same popularity as Gaga and JLo / Shakira. subtext / fantasy

Two leading performers though Literally the reason and their both great performers so their fans sure know they were not gonna dissapoint. Im so happy for them, I had a clue of what Shakira would do but JLo blew me away! The huge Puerto Rican flag made me cry, uplifting oit community in a time of need by filling us with pride. Truly loved this performance it is one of the greatest in recent times (including on the same list as gagas).

LilyLark 10,155
Honestly, not a surprise. It's less to do with JLo, imo, and far more to do with Shakira. Shakira is MASSIVE in all of Latin American and even parts of Europe, Asia, and the MENA. She's bigger than Rihanna, who is one of the biggest WW stars out there, in Latin America. I guess the easiest way to think of it would be to picture Beyonce, Gaga, and Ariana combined and that's Shak's power in some parts of the world. Plus, some of the people on the news were clutching their pearls about the show being "too sexy"—so of course that made the youtube video go even more viral. But yeah, it's not a competition and even if it was...views aren't the best way of judging everything. Adele outsells nearly everyone, and has relatively low youtube numbers compared to other A listers. Katy has something like half of Gaga's numbers, and she was still a massive star when she performed back in '15...arguably bigger than Gaga was in '17.
