TL;DR: She pulls excuses out of her ass for why it's okay if she hits him or throws their stuff at him, but not okay for him to defend himself or ... knock on the door? She has mania and is likely bipolar. He experiences splitting which is common with bipolar and borderline, and violence from a partner or fear the partner will leave can be a huge trigger for splitting. Outbursts of violence are common with both. They should never have been in a relationship unless they were both deep into recovery.

Splitting is the name of a symptom usually associated with Borderline but I've also seen it in friends with Bipolar. Splitting is like your brain has been triggered to view someone as 100% horrible, and you can only think of the bad things they've done and you never want to talk to or see them again. (Until the splitting ends). Splitting is so easy to trigger, that someone not responding to a text in a few hours can make you split on them unless you're in therapy or have been focused on your mental health recovery. Amber's mania and physical assaults would be a guarantee for Johnny splitting and having nothing but hate and resentment for her for a few hours to a few days.

I remember getting trashed years ago on this site for daring to say that she had a previous abuse case and was probably making it up for attention — took years but now we got actual proof that she really was the abusive one. Depp was obviously drunk or high all the time, but he didn’t touch her until she literally punched him in the face and he then pushed her away. But a few years ago everyone was insanely quick to call him an abuser and cancel him. This was a big part in why Disney let him go as Jack Sparrow, and everyone just believed Heard’s story with no actual evidence. Meanwhile Depp has to spend years in court fighting her. He has issues, but honestly she completely used him here.
