I like her, but majority has polarizing video on her.

I feel like she’s the most charismatic progressive woman of color imo

Yasss.

She's awesome, and tells it like it is, no holds barred. Keeps it real.

I guess some people can't handle the truth though :ohwell:

She has next to no governing experience but "tells it like it is," so she'd definitely make a good president.

Now where have I heard that before?

If we're just going to swing from extreme to extreme every four or eight years ad nauseam, we're never going to get the country back on the right track.

Comparing a Black women who calls out systemic racism and white supremacy and doesn't just shut up about those things  as she's expected to, to Trump's problematic and racist ideology and language?

Yikes. Not a good look for a liberal.

But then again, most liberals just pretend to care about social issues and would rather use minorities as props  rather than confront the issues affecting them head on.

Also, I'd much rather someone who lives and calls out these things in office than some neoliberal who will sell out the people they claim to care about as soon as their corporate donors tell them to :ohwell:

She’s not old enough.

His VP pick should have more political experience than the people recommended in this thread.

That's because you're Muslim. As a Jewish person, I don't exactly find her to be charming.

I’m Sikh :triggered: :awkney: And if fighting for Palestinian people’s rights, criticizing the apartheid Israeli state, and condemning lobbyists and firms like AIPAC that buy out politicians to support Netanyahu’s regime makes you uncomfortable as a Jewish person, then let your bigotry and distaste with her Muslim identity shine

I must be missing something here... Are you saying she's anti-semitic? and what does @Gov Hooka being Muslim inherently have to do with them liking Ilhan's charisma :rip:

~~~
Also, I said No to Nina for a few reasons. While I think she is charismatic, intelligent, a good organizer (minus some slip ups with Our Revolution), and a great speaker, I don't think she has enough experience to be President (and yes, I know she was a State Senator, but she was only a State Senator)
 Similarly, I don't feel like anyone in the squad would be a good president as of now, so while its fun to speculate, I would actually be a bit shook and probably facepalm if Bernie picked any of them.
AOC has been getting "omg shes gonna be president one day" talks from media since her meteoric rise, but I say give her a decade+ and see where her political career goes from here. I would not be surprised if the DCCC were to primary her and try to defame her character in favor of someone who plays in the lines a bit more. Luckily she has more fundraising power than any other individual in the House now, so :shrug:
To me, the most inspiring thing about AOC isn't necessarily her as an individual, its that there are people like her all over the country who want to be in politics and arguably should be in politics, but are impeded by our really tribalistic election process (things like the DCCC only supporting incumbents, or supporting challengers who don't even agree with key parts of the Democratic platform if they agree to be team players essentially over young progressives, its just becoming a country club at that point:rip:) If she runs for President in the future  (hopefully not the near future, I think shes way too levelheaded to think even if she could win that she SHOULD just yet.) I would likely support her if nothing has changed from now to then, but I currently look forward to seeing the fruits of this movement grow, whether Bernie wins or not. The Squad should expand and the progressive influence in Congress must grow imo. There could be someone better who knows.
 For Comparison y'all, Bernie Sanders has been a legislator for decades - he has been in both the house and the senate as well as having been the Mayor of Burlington for 8 years, on top of being a political organizer and activist and advocate his whole life. He understands foreign policy deeper than most people in Congress (I would argue), and has among the best track record on workers rights, women's rights, racial justice, criminal justice, climate justice, etc in the congress combined :shrug: Like, he actually is IMO, very qualified. Certainly more qualified than Obama was, or Bill was. I would like someone who at least has some kind of legislative or executive experience at least, and several years of it.
Of the #Squad, only Rashida IMO is even close to being qualified imo, but I can't say I would want her as president either just yet. I really don't know who he should pick. Warren is a no brainer, and apparently they were considering it before, as well as Treasury Secretary, but who knows really :rip: Barbara Lee is also an option. There just aren't that many progressive women of color with strong political standings that are well known by the public, and finding a balance between someone who understands the progressive cause but will also help him in the general might be tough. TBH, I think I might have to settle and accept that he might pick someone more moderate than I personally want just in order to win over some bases (though tbh, look how that worked out for Hillary :rip: She probably would've won if she picked Warren like, lol she really derped on that one)
Thanks for answering. I really love your answers about politics, and really would like to know from you, what would you think about Tulsi Gabbard as V.P.? I know, she is controversial, but it could happen?
And what do you think about Sen. Tammy Baldwin or Senator Debbie Stabenow (if you know them.. I don't, but I read that they have some progressive support)
