Topping the last one shouldn't be difficult :triggered:

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but the reboot was as messy as the rest of the sequels. They should have stopped decades ago

This will literally never happen to any horror franchise ever

Unfortunately... and that's one of the reasons why the genre is having such a hard time being taken seriously. Whatever.

I still think it was bad

That's fine but stating they should stop making them simply because you don't personally like them makes no sense.

Who doesn't take it seriously? The Oscars?

The original is my favorite movie of all time :tony:

The director of trick r treat has said he's got a few projects ahead of it but he will be returning to it.

Well, people in general. That includes people from the film industry. And yes, the Oscars are a consequence of that, but there are more pressing issues when it comes to award shows.

Same. I still don’t get what is so good about that one movie. I see people talking great things about it in the internet but I don’t get it. At least nobody I know personally liked the movie :laughga:

Happy to see I'm not alone here :selena:

Kinda breaks my heart to see films like that get so much praise, while masterpieces like Suspiria and Midsommar barely get seen...

I haven’t watched Suspiria but I enjoyed Midsommar a lot :tony:

Do people not take horror seriously? As far as my understanding goes, it's more award shows that pay them dust, which realistically doesn't mean much given what we know about award shows.

Different strokes I guess. I love it.

Midsommar, and even Hereditary, were critically acclaimed.

Both, I had no clue they were even making another movie

Yep! Halloween Kills comes out this October, and Halloween Ends comes out next October.

It's a big trilogy. :)

I like Midsommar but I wouldn't call it a masterpiece. :triggered:

Midsommar, and even Hereditary, were critically acclaimed.

And it is my understanding that many people have as much consideration towards horror films as they have towards rollercoasters... It's cheap thrills and pure entertainment, and as such, not considered as "noble" as dramas.

Then there are art-house, psychological thrillers that have a shot at being regarded seriously, but they barely get seen in theatres - my point regarding Suspiria and Midsommar.
