China demands a public apology from the Jutland Post for satirical drawing of China's flag.




Jyllands-Posten's editor-in-chief, Jacob Nybroe, emphasizes that the newspaper could never "dream of" making fun of the situation in China, where coronavirus has demanded over 100 deaths so far, and the authorities are struggling to avoid proliferation.

But he does not apologize.

"We can't apologize for something we don't think is wrong. We have no intention of demeaning or mocking, nor do we think the drawing does. As far as I can see, there are two different types of cultural understanding here, ”he says.

Was just about to make a thread about this. Our politicians has also gotten involved and said that China shouldn't get an apology, because the Jutland Post was just using their freedom of speech. Some politicians has also posted the drawing on their Facebook profiles in support of them. 

Jutland Post is known for being provocative though. They were the ones who made the scandalous Muhammed drawings in 2005.

This is what our prime minister said when she was asked about the situation during an interview:
"I have nothing to say about it, other than, in Denmark we have a very strong tradition not only for freedom of speech, but also satirical drawings and that is not going to change. It is a well-known Danish position and it will not change. On behalf of the Danish people and the Danish government all I can say is, we have freedom of speech in Denmark - also when it comes to drawings. I do not think anyone doubts how Denmark works, when it comes to freedom of speech"

She declined to answer whether Jutland Post should apologize or not.

I love how many times she mentioned freedom of speech.

If we rearranged US flag with guns the wars would start and LG would be scrapped so please try understanding China. 

 

 

It all smells so suspicious to me. When China started getting REALLY good indexes on the stock market BAM.... the new disease comes from there... they need to enforce quarantine... people don't spend, work aren't productive at all.
