Prominent SC Official Switches Endorsement from Biden to Sanders

In South Carolina, a prominent African-American lawmaker has switched her endorsement in the 2020 presidential primary from Joe Biden to Senator Bernie Sanders. Richland County Councilmember Dalhi Myers told the Associated Press, “I like the fact that [Sanders] is willing to fight for a better America — for the least, the fallen, the left behind.”

A new WBUR poll shows Sanders has widened his lead to double digits among likely New Hampshire Democratic voters ahead of next month’s primary election.

I thought prominent African American politicians only endorsed Biden or other moderates? Especially in SC 

At least that's what centrists on GGD told me!

Most minorities have ideals that align with Bernie’s ideas and policy proposals, so it’s not shocking to see more AM voters turning to him as Bernie gets more exposure tbh

Also, Biden's whole minority outreach (from the gp perspective I have this time around) seems to basically be "I was the VP to the first black president"

Yeah, after he called him "articulate" on the campaign trail  

But yes, this is Joe Biden's entire shtick... "I'm not trump, remember Obama? That guy? Barack, my friend?" until someone points out a flaw of Obama, and then he says "whoa, I didn't always agree with him, but he was great, truly great that can't be denied..."

Other than the constant gaffs, I think my least favorite Biden trope is that he's trying to ride Obama's coattails. And he sucks at it.

It's lowkey dumb too when so many younger and progressive voters (a number that seems to be exploding higher with every election) seem to have so many deal breaking issues with the Obama admin's choices

Hahahahahaha. When I pointed out in the Joe Rogan thread that Biden got four endorsements this week from African American Members of Congress, the Bernie Bros posted LMAO reactions but otherwise ignored it. Now they're all celebrating getting a councilmember??   Sounds very "prominent"...

I notice endorsements only matter when they endorse Bernie. But I guess you have to take what you can get when you're polling so low among African Americans and have so few endorsements from people who have actually worked with him.

True but the reason they back Biden is Obama and because older black folk tend to be more conservative than Sanders. This is a great change! Shows that the latter reason doesn’t preclude con. folk from seeing who would be better for everyone.

Ok so I have no skin in this fight in the thread but let’s just put it out there the DMR gave Warren a cakewalk debate task so while that is an impressive endorsement, it feels a little skeezy to me when prior to this they already displayed partiality.
