Gagaloo911 12,959
All this faux outrage and fake wokeness suddenly coming from GGD centrists and establishment sympathizers If they were genuine about that and not hypocrites they'd say these same things about the problematic history Biden and Buttigieg have with issues relating to race and other social issues
ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Genderqueer person here: I care that Bernie got this person with some pretty backwards social views to endorse an idea like Medicare for All that will allow trans people to transition and receive hormone therapy and or gender confirming surgeries for free instead of having to spend their life's savings over sometimes several several years just to get top surgery, and having to wrestle with insurance, constant gaslighting psychologists who don't understnd gender, etc. I'll take that win and continue to denounce his views wherever I deem fit. Also, I'm watching this thread for hypocrisy, because I've had many conversations about gender identity and queer theory on this website with some of y'all and lots of people here have views that I would say are certainly problematic as well 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

The issue here isn't the endorsement, it's the use of the endorsement by the Sanders campaign as it really disregards all the harm Rogan and his platform does for the trans community. There is this pretty safe gray area where he can let Rogan's endorsement speak for itself, if he's truly one of the :most influential men in America". But do you feel the campaign made an error in using the endorsement in a tweet to signal to others who may be fans of Joe, who aren't already in our "tent" that there might be something to the Bernie campaign that they can believe in as well? In other words, do you think Bernie should have gave up the opportunity to try to enlarge his tent or coalition at the expense of elevating someone with problematic social views? I personally don't think it's an error because Bernie needs to win and if he's going to win, he has to have more than the majority of the progressive wing of the party. Feedback welcomed. I don't care about his endorsement, if anything it is a good thing. But I also would've rather they done something to add context to this instead of just basically retweeting it... That being said, when I saw that the campaign had posted the video and just took the quote, I literally didn't care at all. I saw it, was like, cool, and went on with my night It would be another thing if Bernie's team and policies werent actually *the* most woke of anyone running and also if Bernie was like, dumbing down his proposals to appeal to conservatives, but his messaging has remained consistent, even in that interview he didnt shy away from pointing out that his policies would help marginalized communities that are disproportionately hurt by neoliberalism the most I see that many trans twitter personalities are upset about it, but also... I just don't care tbh like There isn't any politician running whos understanding of trans issues is anything more than what google + their communications team has taught them, for sure, and in that light, I don't actually see any of the candidates as being the "best" on trans issues, which is why I default to policy on this, and IMO Bernie (and then Warren) are the only viable one if you think empowering the trans community is something worth voting for. Like, they are all somewhat pandering if we want to be cynical about it, and that's a fair criticism, but if youre not super engaged in politics and are trans, I'm sure this might look just like a big middle finger to trans people (sorta)... Which is why some kind of extra clarification (NOT a rejection of the endorsement) would be nice. Also, considering when asked off the cuff questions like "would you legally recognize non binary identities" Bernie thought about it for like, a second and then said "Yes" pretty easily, so I feel somewhat confident that he is the kind of candidate who can actually move left on issues if pushed w.o being like, stuck in his ways. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

Reginald 13,841
I -- well, that was a surprise Rogan is an insanely influential figure right now. I don't care for him, but there are lots of individuals who value his political opinion .
Buddy 5,686
I love Rogan, listen to his podcasts almost every day The majority of his podcasts are him talking about DMT being the burning bush and and how easy bears can kill people He tries to be open minded on trans stuff, but can't get behind MTF in sports and children transitioning. Don't think that's too extremist...
Bt1 5,213
The problem is that Bernie is so proud to tweet about the endorsment, not that Joe Rogan endorsed him. Also, in this democratic race, I dont see another candidate taking too many votes from Joe Rogan public. Edit : when I say Bernie, I'm talking about Bernie campaign team. It's mostly their error for using the endorsment this way. I doubt that Bernie knows everything Joe Rogan said and all his controversies. His team should have know them. Buddy 5,686
BTW... Biden, Warren, and Buttigieg all begged to be on his show, but he declined.
StarstruckIllusion 53,580
I have to puke at how socially regressive he is, (he apparently yelled to a trans woman that she’s a man 🤨), and I have to frown that he’s apparently the most influential voice in America, but his endorsement is huge. He reasoning is great. And cancels the narrative that he’s divisive and unelectable
Sanju 1,504
Yeah his endorsement is pretty much bigger than NYT's actual endorsement.
