HermioneT 1,998
I'm set up to visit two big toy fairs the coming week, where most of the exhibitors are Asian. I'm scheduled to meet our mainly Chinese manufacturers and honestly, I pretty scared right now. My boss adviced me to be careful and keep distance " where possible" which is not very reassuring. Eido 3,685
Right now, people should just see what happens next. We basically don't really know anything about the virus itself : where it comes from exactly, how it spreads, how long is the incubation and if we start being infectious before or after... As for the mortality rates, it is of 4%(from what we know). Also, this is the kind of virus that mutates quite easily and the more infected they are the more mutations it will get. The thing is some governments will likely not disclose if they have infected in their country... That we need to be careful of. Also it's gonna be me in a few weeks when I'll be going to work in the miffle of the pandemic :
TEMPLE 1,358
I’d say this is what China gets for eating all kinda of dodgy meats and fxcking bats, but the fact it’s affecting the wider world they need to be held responsible in some form or another. They needs to stop these crazy fxcking meat markets and introduce some hygiene into their lives.

As long as they aren't from Wuhan, I wouldn't be too scared. Of course, always take basic hygiene precautions. Wash your hands after the encounter and don't touch your face before you wash them after interacting with others.
Luc 4,776
What are the chances China will still be affected by August? I'm planning to live in Shanghai for half a year, but I hope it will be gone by then. Don't want to be in the same situation exchange students to Hong Kong were past half a year. (excuse my selfishness)

(excuse my selfishness) There might be a vaccine by then, and we're still waiting to see how wide this outbreak will be. As of now there are 9 confirmed cases in Shanghai. Apparently some of the manufacturers are from the Wuhan region...which does not mean they're necessarily spreading the virus. It just feels like such a bad timing to have so many of them come over to Europe at this time. She / hers

Eido 3,685
I just want to say that it is weird to put an entire city in quarantine for only 500 people infected.... out of 10 millions. Also there is a video circulating where hospitals seem to be overwhelmed with people in line waiting to be diagnosed
Guest MJHW
it is a virus, therefore there are no antibiotics capable of destroying it and so far no vaccine has proven to be valid. For now, no cure is effective, it is also changeable...
