If we're talking about the gang related crimes I'd have to know what gangs and who the members are to get a better picture of why they're committing such crimes. I don't think much has changed, maybe only the demographics of those gangs. Interesting, I'd have to do more research to inform myself more on Sweden's crime trends. The issue usually is that people use numbers to discriminate, be xenophobic etc. As long as rational steps are taken to reduce crime and all immigrants aren't demonized, there should be no issue.
