Debate moderator: Here, you are on record saying that 1+1 is indeed 2 but you say otherwise now.

Pete: And again, we have to be inclusive of ALL realities including the fact that it could equal 3. We cannot exclude people who so say, our campaign must be one of inclusion.

Moderator: you said you believed 1+1=2 indubitably.

Pete: the truth is I have always been consistent. Now go to peteforamerica dot com

I want the gay president

So problematic. Just because he’s gay and he would be first gay president doesn’t mean he’s a good candidate. His politics are awful.

I LOVE GGD

It´s SOOOO obvious the agenda the Democrats have. Get rid of Bernie. Pete is definitely not as popular as they want people to believe. These polls are made up to create the impression that people care about him when in reality all they want to do is try to get rid of Bernie Sanders, because they are afraid of him.

I hope beat doesn't win honestly... he's good and all, but theres no way he can beat Trump. he seems too soft and inexperienced. Bernie or Amy Klobuchar would be such better options

No, I meant paid vacation time (accrued or otherwise). :) Edited my post to remove "family" because that makes it seem like it's about maternal or paternal leave (which he is in favor of).

But he doesn't want to guarantee even 6 weeks of paid vacation time a year which is already standard in many states.

Oh. In my Province (Ontario) vacation is only 2 weeks (3 weeks if you work for the same employer over 5 years) :emma:

Do all sized businesses have to do that or is it for businesses over certain number of employees? 6 weeks sounds like a bit of a strain on small and medium size businesseses

I think there's a distinction between which businesses have to do that based on size (number of employees). In California, smaller business also have to pay a slightly lower minimum wage than what big businesses do (still much higher than the federal number).

I always thought this was a good idea (as long as it's a gradual or small increase and not a sudden big difference that would encourage companies to not invest past a certain size for the sake of not suddenly having much higher labor costs)

Yeah, and minimum wage should increase at a slow rate every 2 or so years by rule. That would make these negotiations much easier. We wouldn't have to fight about arbitrary numbers.

Oh yeah but I wasn't talking about increases in terms of time.

When I said I supported that idea as long as it was gradual I was talking gradual as in the difference in the minimum wage between smaller companies vs big ones

Cuz say at 49 employees min wage wage $12/h but then at 50 suddenly jumps to $15/h companies may simply be encouraged to freeze expansion at 49 employees to avoid a sudden spike in labor costs

I was refering to that since u said in California bigger companies minimum wage is slightly higher
