PoetsTryinWrite 1,262
What they found was a T-cell inside people's blood. This is an immune cell that can scan the body to assess whether there is a threat that needs to be eliminated. The difference is this one could attack a wide range of cancers. "There's a chance here to treat every patient," researcher Prof Andrew Sewell told the BBC. He added: "Previously nobody believed this could be possible. "It raises the prospect of a 'one-size-fits-all' cancer treatment, a single type of T-cell that could be capable of destroying many different types of cancers across the population." https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/health-51182451 Defend Your Humanity. Edonis 28,974
Immune therapy is really the future of medicine. I'm glad it's finally taking off after years of indifference.
Rio 5,088
The elite governments ain’t ever gonna allow something like this to flourish in the medical industry, let’s be honest. They’ll control it. Cannabis oil helped heal my mum’s cancer dramatically, yet they’re still reluctant to legalise it. A plant, a medicine - yet alcohol and cigarettes are legal

Not many people have the money to pay for these things. Edit: I actually agree with you but Idk how to say it ugh The night sky tells all

No Read the article This type of T-cell is very good at reading disturbances of MR1 molecule on surfaces of cells which can be distorted by unbalanced metabolic processes (which happens with cancer since those cells have to grow and divide so quickly) This ability of this particular T-Cell is specifically relevant to cancer cells. It has nothing to do with other illnesses
PopThatArt 2,193
Lets hope this new decade is full of these medical discoveries that can prevent and cure all the illnesses we've lived with for so long so people have a newfound hope if they are sick, or so we can all live without being fearful of getting cancer or whatever else it may be. This is just a newly discovered targeted method. The issues isn't exactly a government problem (aside from funding, which in the US for example, biomedical research funding has decreased thanks to Trump); it's more pertinent to find out if it actually works across different populations and isn't just outlier data, etc.

A plant, a medicine - yet alcohol and cigarettes are legal I think these claims are slightly exagerated... While beaureocracy can often stand in the way or sometimes a treatment may not be profitable to develop which may also prevent companies from pursuing it... I don't believe governments purposely go out of their way to stop treatments from flourishing Healthcare is a huge cost for almost every government. Governments would welcome the reduced financial pressure if anything

What companies love is to charge a lot with patented new drugs. Expensive drugs in terms of the price they sell to the consumer but they certainly don't want to spend a lot in having to make it What companies want is a cheap treatment to make and when they overcharge then they get a fat profit margin. If a treatment is expensive to make they don't love that believe me. There has been research many times before into treatments that are too expensive to ever become profitable and the research was abandoned. That's what I'm getting at

I don't think a treatment of the form would be your standard medication like pharmaceutical pills if that's what ur think This would probably require some type of therapy to stimulate their production I would assume A lot of new cancer treatments that are breaking thru are not exactly medications
