In reality, people don't give a damn about authenticity in this kind of process. It's mainstream pop aesthetics, assumed, fabricated and reflected as such. A pop music product proposition is not debatable as "it's not authentic"; in Fact pop music is all about trends. and generic is a term to be forgotten. Everyone is manufactured to some extent, even the most indie guy in the world will always conform to the image that the movement in which he is, expects from him, whether he wants it or not. Sis they aren't "manufactured." That said, of course Gaga, Dua, Beyonce, h*ll even FKA Twigs (there's are a reason her most GP friendly music is put out as singles) to a certain degree make music that is supposed to appeal to the masses.
