Gov Hooka 8,008
Since I don’t live in a swing state, I will not be voting for Biden if he gets the nomination. Might as well use my vote for something good if it doesn’t do any real damage.

I find it odd trying to constantly bring up Hillary as some kind of proof that centrists are bad for elections Yes the Democrats lost last election with a centrist (just as they won many in the past too without leftists) Again, besides the luck of the electorial college because of how the break down happened, it's very common for parties to switch after two consecutive terms. Bernie could of just as easily lost in 2016 for all we know Again, I think Bernie can do more than Biden to make some needed structural changes in America. I may not agree with how far left he wants to go in certain things but I don't think the rest of governemnt will allow him to go beyond a certain point anyway so I'm not concerned... Either way I think the general direction Bernie would take America in I think is better than Biden... So before anyone thinks I'm being biased in favor of Biden, I'm not endorsing him. I do want Bernie to win But I also think always using Hillary as proof of how politics and voters work is a very weak argument to say the least Bernie has this it factor to energize voter turnout... But on the flip side some centrists that would have Biden's vote could vote for Trump if it's between Trump and Bernie. Which is the stronger factor at play? I think it's hard to really say because if Bernie does win the nomination it will be the first time (at last in a long time) that someone that far left runs A lot of how the votes would split is still theoretical. Polls for primary only tell us so much for the actual presidential race But i do think the odds are pretty even and at this point Bernie could be almost as likely to win the primary as Biden so well see. Again I'd rather have Bernie than Biden But we can also bring up Kerry and Gore right off the top of the head. Only 1 candidate since bill Clinton has been able to run and win. That was Obama’s and he ran as a progressive and not as a centrist. This next bit is a general comment to the thread but to can certainly respond! Biden may be more ideologically more appealing to people than Bernie (thus the reason Biden polls better) but Biden doesn’t excite anybody. So, in other words, if everyone who say they would vote for Biden over Trump actually voted, Biden would be more electable. However, he doesn’t motivate people in the same way Bernie does. People aren’t going to be excited about voting for Biden in November 2020 and many people will find reasons not to vote. And the so called electable candidate will lose to Trump in the same fashion Hillary did in 2016.

That's why I said there's 2 opposing forces at work and which is stronger i think is highly theoretical Biden appeals to more general masses becaus of the centrist but are his supporters are generally less devoted So does the higher voter turnout from Bernie's supporters compensate for many slightly fewer supporters? That's the question I play I see Biden and Bernie like Gaga vs Katy Perry in 2011 to 2014 Gaga had more devoted fans that were there to support and never completely flopped (minus GUY)... Katy Perry was more popular with the masses but less devoted fans. She'd have bigger hits but also had more misses too (unconditionally, this is how we do, birthday etc) I get my comparison is not the exact same thing but I'm trying to illustrate the general idea of what I'm trying to say

I got the metaphor. And I agree with you. Bernie is the only candidate who has both the passion from supporters and consistent polling data showing a capability of winning. I really do think that’s the winning formula. Warren is the only other major contender (Yang and Tulsi would beat trump but at this moment and time have no chance to win the nomination) who had a chance. Warren did a GE pivot in the primary on Medicare for All and it yanked her campaign. She’s now trusted less than Biden on all major policy questions (healthcare, jobs, foreign policy, etc). The primary starts in 3 weeks and if she doesn’t win Iowa or New Hampshire, she has zero chance of winning the nomination and even if she did we have a less convincing case that she would win against Trump. The Warren from September of 2018 could have because she was doing almost everything right.

JusKeepBreathin 19,311
This poll shows Bernie polling higher with the upper Middle Class than he does with the poor and the working class. Just like Warren which proves his script about Warren was just a smear campaign. The only candidates that polls higher with the poor than Upper middle class is Biden and Pete. It just proves that Progressives are a bunch of upper middle class SJW's who think they know what the poor want more than the poor.
