It make no cents luv. Not when he's said the opposite for literally decades.

How disappointing. I was originally a Warren supporter in this campaign but in the past few months shifted to Sanders and I'm so glad I did now.

Warren is really steering in the wrong direction these past couple months. Idk what is up with her campaign, new advisers? Or new strategies they're trying?

Whatever it else, it ain't working. Not when she's been losing her momentum. And pulling this card certainly ain't going to help with that.

MSM and debate moderators at Tuesday's debate in Iowa are going to have a field day with this. Warren is giving them exactly what they want.

There's always two sides to every story and context is important. Simply Omitting details without technically lying can be enough to be misleading and politicians use this tool all the time to give across false messages and then if they are called on it they can say they didn't lie which is true

Warren saying Bernie said a woman can't win is a very simple small statement. There must of been a conversation behind it and what he was saying by it may not even be the way she makes it come across

I never judge without hearing Both sides of the story. Things are rarely as black and white as they may seem and I'm sure that's whats probably happened here

I don't think Warren flat out lied but it's very possible the real convo with more details might not be what people might think

Bernie never gave me the impression of a mysogonist

I'm not questioning anything you said, although the bolded is IMO whats happening here, but I just want to ask.

Why, if this story is over a year old, was it unearthed and posted by CNN, who hosts the debate and makes the questions and picks the audience, at the behest of Warren camp people, originally as anonymous sources, all of whom did not speak to Elizabeth personally, 1 day before the debate, and 3 weeks before Iowa after Bernie is being seen as the frontrunner for the first time and Warren is in second, after months of flailing and falling behind in polling since October.

Now, maybe that's all coincidence. It technically could be, however examining the logic behind what I've bolded tells me that this is the point. It's gaslighting 101 :shrug:

This is a situation where we can't know 100% of the details for certain as of now, and this will contrast in the public sphere with people who will draw conclusions even with the lack of details. Thus, if it turns out she is even remotely lying or just wasn't framing the conversation accurately (embellishing details or w.e, like maybe he never said the words "a woman can't win") they will be able to hide behind "look, was it a lie? No. She just remembered the conversation differently."

IMO, It would be naive to have been a person that has lived with politics for their entire lives, to throw our arms up at this situation and to say "well, since we can't know, it must mean there is no offender and no victim and no blame to be given!" That would be ignore the very documented history of this kind of "attack"

~~~~
So, let's focus on what we do know, which is that people are currently outraged at the suggestion that a woman can't win. People are throwing their arms up and asking Bernie to apologize to Warren, saying he's a sexist, pointing out Hillary won by 3 million votes etc.
Do you know who also made this point 2 weeks ago with very little pushback?
Joe Biden. And there was no lack of clarity in details in his case. He said Hillary Clinton faced Sexism against Trump in 2016, and that he, a man, would not have that experience. He later said he didn't believe a woman just can't win, but news coverage of this event was very hushed and not pushed by more than 1 or 2 smaller news outlets.
So, if people are upset at the assertion that sexism will be part of Trump's strategy in 2020, then we should attack Joe Biden for this too right? At least we know for Bernie that he vehemently objects the assertion that he believed a woman could not run, and claims he did not tell her that she couldn't win, but that he had concerns about Trump's playbook.
If Joe Biden is allowed to not face the heat for his voting record, for his "gaffes", for his comments about sexism in 2020, how is this a fair Primary at all? Why should any single person accept that Joe Biden must be the nominee just because everyone keeps saying it without actually ever grilling his qualifications, his likelihood to beat Trump, etc?
Elizabeth is ****ing OVER and we will not let her get away with this! This is one of the dirtiest moves I've ever witnessed in politics. How dare she backstab her friend, once again!
Many of you may not be aware, but Bernie chose to run in 2016 only after he pushed for her to and she declined. This evil wench, who Bernie has referred to as his closest "friend" in the Senate, then went on to avoid endorsing him when he needed it most, all because she wanted to endorse Hillary and have a chance at VP!  He has only ever spoken fondly of her, even on the debate stage.
Such convenient timing, Liz, right as you are free-falling and Bernie is surging. What a spineless opportunist you are. I am now more grateful for Bernie Sanders than ever, a candidate with moral integrity. One who would never sell his friends to get ahead.
This was sort of sad to read. I hope you get the help you need.
Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by over 3 million votes.
OH that's right omg. Then how did she not get in? American politics is very confusing. That being said, she didn't make it to the white house, and there is a reason for that which I assume still stands today. Like I said, I'm hopeful for a woman president some day, but I'm not holding my breath for it to happen any time soon.
I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
I don’t believe Warren for a second.
LOL dude, you went from "if she's telling the truth then why doesn't she say something" just TWO HOURS AGO to "well she said something but she's still not telling the truth" now. You don't know which way is up anymore.
Honestly some of you are becoming akin to cultists - Bernie can do no wrong, and if anyone says he did then they're lying. I'm glad I've never been so taken in by a political candidate before, it's absurd.
That’s because here in the United States the Popular Vote doesn’t determine who gets elected. We still operate using the Electoral College as the deciding factor in electing a president.
Chill out. No need to be hostile. Trump and his blind loyalists already do enough damage dividing he country. People against that mess should be coming together regardless of whether they support Bernie or Warren or Biden or Pete or whoever else is left on the Dem side.
This was debunked. Bernie said decades ago that he thinks a woman could win the presidency and encouraged little girls to do so. He wanted Warren to run instead of him in 2016 too :lmao: This is all a joke. What makes anyone think he would say that anyways :rip:
About the campaign volunteers smearing Warren, that post made on-line wasn’t associated with the campaign. Warren just made herself look really stupid.
In the end, this is going to hurt her, Bernie, and help Joe Biden :rip:
Just look at what happened to Hilary Clinton trying to smear Tulsi and how it epically backfired onto Hillary. You’d think the mainstream media and these no-good-for-nothing politicians would learn.
“I thought a woman can win, he disagreed”
is like Bernie saying:
”I think I can beat Trump” but for the press:
“I thought a Jew can be a President, she disagreed”,
which would make her antisemite.
She didn’t explicitly attribute those words to him in her statement, for a reason and she didn’t give context, just “won’t discuss this further”.
So dishonest and manipulative.
