Do you want the lead single to be the opening track of LG6 ala Just Dance, Bad Romance and Anything Goes? Or do you want it to be the song that has the most potential to be a hit ala Born This Way, Applause, Perfect Illusion and Shallow? Me personally I’d love for the lead to be the first song on the album because her opening songs are always good introductions but I feel that’s very, very unlikely this time around. Maybe even...dare I say Born This Way is not either? The best lead for ARTPOP would have been Gypsy or Aura or DWUW. The best lead for Joanne would have been AYO or Dancin' in Circles. The best song from ASIB would have been Always Remember Us This Way. And The Edge of Glory and Scheibe are arguably better than the song Born This Way. Fight me. #ISaidWhatISaid I kindaish agree with you on everything besides Shallow. Shallow was the most hit-worthy song on the album because of the chemistry between Gaga and Bradley. The song was the biggest part of the movie. I don't think ARUTW or INLA would've became hits alone if Shallow wasn't chosen as the lead single. We're still gonna hear the lead first (presumably), she can then adjust its position on the tracklist however she wants. Any song that is 'opening material' can then take the first slot of the album. I actually feel like diamond heart and marry the night are the example of what you need in an opener. Cause in a way it should feel like an introduction. It can go baam but its usually different feel. From gaga i expect a ride and to experience delight and amazement at each new track. She kinda hasnt really got me like i expext her to. Yet!
