They're wrong actually and it's not country but we don't care. Shallow going 1B is huge.

I agree with you in a way. It's more ballad/rock with some  nods to country elements. But ****...just take the damn award and run. Lol. You're right...this is massive.

honestly if September 2018 us would have seen this thread you would had us ****ed up.

Shallow  also becomes the first ever (and only) Country Song to have more than 1 Billion streams.

Little messters hate Joanne bEcAUsE iTS cOuNTrY yet Shallow is their favorite song :lolga:

i think y’all just like success :lolga:

edit: you’re welcome though. I stream this song every fricken day on my way home from working out when all the breathing techniques make me able to sing higher notes for whatever reason :lana:

I think people are just more ****ed up that Gaga's first single to go #1 in years, win multiple Grammy's, win an Oscar, become a contender to be her biggest hit, catapult her streaming power, and first song to get 1 Billion streams is a damn country song from a movie soundtrack. :saladga:

The 2008-2018 little monster in me would have bitch slapped me for saying that would be her phoenix moment.

Honestly yes though :laughga: if someone told me during the ARTPOP era that Gaga’s resurgence would be due to a “country song from a movie soundtrack” I would’ve said:

Just because Aura uses a guitar before the drop doesn’t make it a country song :excuseu:

I mean...it is. At least it comes up on Spotify Country Playlists and is listed under "Country" on iTunes.

Believe me if you say a country fan Shallow is a country song he'll probably have a good laugh at you. It's not even near being country.

Shallow is a pop/rock ballad.

Its because of the movie tho. Lets see if Gaga still has that streaming power with LG6

For this she'll need strong deals with Spotify and radios.

I think she could smash again with her own solo material. I mean if MR achieved to hit 400M and The Cure almost 300M, she's definitely able to hit higher with LG6.

It definitely did about 10-15x better than I originally thought it would at first listen...but...sometimes things just catch on.

I think the build up/howl in the song is what makes it so iconic. It makes the song feel very big compared to the simplicity of its opening. I think people liked that/felt they could belt out to it.

I'm amazed how well GP ate it, but I think it's because of the meme material it had. :ally:

The bridge is so unique yet so raw I would have never thought ppl/radio would play it that much. :wtfga:
