Not sure about Cardi but ANTi debuted with 1M+ because of a deal with Samsung where they bought over half a million copies and automatically included them on a new phone release or something BUT because they released the album at the wrong time (literally like only 2 HOURS before the end of the tracking week, instead of the new one) it has legit just over 400 copies in pure sales as it’s debut making it the lowest debut at #1 in pure sales in chart history 💀

If Joanne was able to exceed expectations and do 200K with less hype and without PI being successful (and MR wasn’t until months later), I don’t see why she wouldn’t do more than that this time even with just a moderate hit to start off. 

500K seems reasonable. 

I don’t think we have to worry about the era being as front-loaded as BTW or ARTPOP. She still seemed like someone who might “go away” at that point (though not to us!) Now she has been a celebrity fixture for over a decade and proven that she’s not going anywhere.

With the right promotion and single, etc she could do 400-500k sps (maybe even more if the single is a smash). There gp interest is definitely there and if she serves up something uptempo and fun people will eat it up. Her ig numbers are pretty indicative of her resurgence in popularity. I really hope lg6 does well not because it’s important but just to extend her legacy.

I wasn't even talking about 460. Anti's first tracking week had it at like 150k. Pretty sure neither Billboard nor RIAA count those 1M units from Samsung which were given away for free lol

And NO I dont count ANTI because Samsung bought like 600k of those copies and somehow that counted. Lol. 

All of those artists are iconic but if we are talking DEBUTS they are not in the class of Adele, Gaga, Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Eminem, and Taylor  who have debuted Platinum in a single week. 

Those are the only 6 to have a U.S. Platinum First Week in the Digital Era (2006-).

I'm actually surprised that Bruno doesn't sell as much as Ed. I thought he was a bigger artist than Ed. He's also overall better.
