Gimme More 35,802
Meghan Markle has returned to Canada to be reunited with baby Archie - as her husband Prince Harry held crisis talks with the Royal family. Prince Harry, 35, remains in the UK where he is reported to have held a four-way phone call with the Queen, his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William, following his bombshell announcement that he wants to step back from Royal duties. Meghan, 38, is in Vancouver, where her baby son was staying with a nanny when the couple returned briefly to the UK after the couple spent an extended six-week stay over Christmas and the New Year in Canada. It is believed she will stay in Canada for the foreseeable future. Harry, however, will remain in the UK as he is hosting the Rugby League World Cup 2021 draw next week. Crunch talks took place on Thursday in a call between the Queen, in Sandringham, Charles from Scotland and William in London as Harry joined the call from Windsor. They indicated that they intend to step back as senior members of the royal family and will divide their time between North America and the UK while "continuing to honour our duty to the Queen, the Commonwealth and our patronages." The decision came after "many months of reflection and internal discussions", they added. Buckingham Palace released a statement which said: "We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through." Constitutionally, Harry will remain sixth in line to the throne. The couple are preparing to launch a charity, Sussex Royal, which they set up after splitting from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's foundation in June 2019. It is expected to be global, linked to the US and Africa, with a commitment to female empowerment. The couple applied to trademark the brand in December on items including books, calendars, clothing, charitable fundraising, education and social care services. The couple are classified as "internationally protected people", which means the Metropolitan Police must provide armed security. I'm wishing nothing but the best for Harry, Meghan & Archie They are doing what is best for them, so good on them!
Bubblegum Bitch 18,934
Maybe I don't understand this problem, but I think Royal Family takes it all too serious. We are living in 21th century, so Meghan and Harry are free to live their lives in way they want to.

gagzus 23,071
He’s not even in the next two in line for the throne and Wallace abdicated to marry a divorcee it’s nothing too serious imo. Although telling the public BEFORE his family is a bit of a mess. The public are already blaming Meghan for this which is annoying

Guest
What a mess. Either you quit or you don't, that's not how you handle it. Way to tarnish her reputation again.

People take it serious because the taxpayers pay for their security, their mansions and clothes etc. If they quit and got rid of their HRH title at least it would be respectful towards the UK and its citizens. But for them to pay for their million dollar cottage, security etc for them to leave without any notice and still take the money from a country they flee from is not fair or right. I'm sure if they let the Queen know before that they QUIT and then had a press conference, people wouldn't be against them as much as they are now. There's a way to do things in the right way, respecting some kind of protocole. The problem with these two is they want to leave somewhere else and do business but still have all the benefits from being a royal. Not how life works. Make a decision and stick to it u cant have the whole cake

RahrahWitch 6,985
I feel bad for her, She obviously didn't know what the Royal life was really like and wants out, I like that Harry is sticking by her. The Royal Family and British media will probably paint her out to be the bad guy but ultimately it comes down to the Money issue but they did say they want to be financially independent so there's that. Let them do what they want it aint that deep, we are paying the taxes regardless of whether they are in the UK or not.

If you think it's normal to pay for two people who don't live in the UK and do nothing in the UK, then i'm sorry but you're crazy. Royal families are useless as it is but if they work as ambassadors in charities in the UK then at least it's okay. You gotta cut their fund if they want nothing to do with the UK. You're one of the rare person who's willing to pay for two people for just breathing and living.

I agree, how is it fair if they still get money now that they've 'retired'
