Andrew and Evelyn Yang On The View

I know people just don’t wanna look into him for some reason on GGD, but he’s such a good candidate and and is able to unify so many people, Dem, Rep, disengaged voters, etc. 

So respectful and you can tell his campaign wants to help American people and isn’t just a power hungry maniac. I get teased a lot about supporting Yang on here, but I’m not gonna feel embarrassed, he’s the real deal to me, he doesn’t play into the drama of Dem debates, he doesn’t have any dirty laundry, his politics are so refreshing and ethical, and he's so empowering and authentic. 

He’s got my vote for sure. I hope he continues to make waves the way he’s been doing.

He has super interesting ideas and I hate when people say you can only bet on someone's who's a top-tier in the polls but... I don't see how you can jump from something like 3% nationally to potential nominee when you're 3 weeks away from the first caucus, comes as sixth so far with candidates who are at 15%, 20% or 29% in the national polls.

Yes you can always have surprises but that would be too much of a switch to be believable imo. He's too ahead of his time a bit like Sanders in 2016 so I wish he'll be placed in the winner team.I don't see Biden rocking the boat enough to get him on board so I hope Sanders will get the nom' and have Yang in his campaign.

I go back and forth on Yang, but I've never disliked him as a person, and his wife is adorable. He seems quite genuine, though I do get some Libertarian vibes from his policies that I just can't shake

There are a lot of them. He's anti-establishment so he's been unsurprisingly shut out from a lot of important media coverage, but that has morphed into him appearing for interviews with independent media, podcasts, journalists, political celebrities, etc. all over the internet, because its another way to get his message out.

 

I've seen a lot of them, and he's just... not left enough for me. He's managed to take a chiefly socialist idea (Universal Basic Income) and suggest it in IMO the most regressive way possible  Somewhere RN, every proponent of UBI in the last 60 years from Martin Luther King to Rutger Bregman are all turning over in their graves or rolling their eyes (Bregman is alive, lol). Similarly, his health care plan is like, actually more conservative than I ever could have expected.  His message on the *why* we need UBI is right though. Like, he has some great plans, some progressive, some just interesting that I had never thought of but I agree with, but on the really important issues, its almost like he's undercut some of them by trying to make them appeal to Meritocratic libertarians and Republicans who truly believe in their heart of hearts that People Get What They Deserve, and Survival of the Fittest, etc and that sits very wrong with me.

But, he's making important points and bringing up important topics, so I'll allow it

Then him being less left on my books might be a good thing  that doesn't mean I support him. I'd have to see if I actually agree with his ideas which I don't know enough to really comment on him specifically

 

But I guess on the left u already know how I feel. Too much of anything in life tends to be bad. Water, vitamins, exercise, loving attention etc. Everything has a limit that if u cross starts to become bad instead of good

 

I think the needed good left wing ideas to redistribute wealth in a modern economy where wealth doesn't really trickle down down is not an exception to this rule. If u overdo it u might hurt business investment too much and do more harm than good

 

And some of the more left Candidates like Bernie and Ocasio Cortez propose tax rates so high they don't exist almost anywhere else in the world even Scandinavia. I can't see that being good for the US

 

I'm not calling leftists ignorant (u know how much I hate it when ppl are disrespectful to other opinions). But I haven't been convinced by them tbh

Ever since he highjacked the name “Medicare for All” for his plan that doesn’t have single-payer plan or public option, I have lost all respect and credibility of him.

 

how sleazy to deceive everyday americans by saying “medicare for all” in your ads. And YES, it is a name of a BILL. So don’t say its just a name. ITS A BILL AND BERNIE WROTE THE DAMN BILL.

his UBI is useless. If thats supposed to be freedom for everyday americans, it wont be. Millions of americans will still be forced to work for their employers In fear of losing private insurance. private insurances and employers will simply raise their premiums, knowing people can afford to pay. If everyone in the country has more money, what is there to stop the simple inflation of everything else. 
 

everyday americans will still be screwed over by the for-profit middleman between them and their doctors. Student debt will live on and bury a whole generation. Medical debt will be alive and thriving.
