LadariousGarage 1 Posted January 9, 2020 Share Posted January 9, 2020 so, i'm sure nobody gives a f*ck but if any of y'all give a f*ck lmao here it is So, I made a thread about a month ago called Bionic is Xtina's worst album, Lotus Deserved Better and I stand by pretty much everything I said in that thread, Lotus is still her best, and Bionic, arguably, is her worst (though I listened to Liberation again and ) here is the thread if anyone is interested so anyways, I got mixed reactions to that thread, as should be expected, but last night, I was bored, and had nothing to do, so I decided to listen to Bionic again, because I hadn't listened to it in like months, and sometimes I will listen to a album, totally hate it, and listen to it like a month later, and its like one of my favorites and I said in that thread, it has its highlights, and I think I found more highlights through this second listen anyways, here is my review of Bionic Spoiler 1. Bionic: This is honestly one of my fav Xtina songs, even though its more of like a intro to the album, its still great. She achieved what I think she was trying to do with her alot of the rest of the album with this song, which she failed at in others 2. Not Myself Tonight: I see alot of people stanning over this song, and I don't get it. Its honestly kind of weak overall, and was a terrible lead single choice, and one of the main reasons that this album flopped. The chores kinda sucks, and is bland, and the first few verses are mediocre at best. 3. Woohoo (Ft. Nicki Minaj): This is arguably one of the worst songs on the album, like I could not finish the song, its that bad, I swear to god. 4. Elastic Love: Weak song, the autotune is terrible, like Woohoo, I listened to like half the song, its not good. She sounds like someone who heard a single 80's song and its trying to replicate it. Its bad 5. Desnudate: One of the highlights of the album. When I was listening to the first few tracks, I was starting to lose hope again in the album, but omg this should have been the lead, its such a bop, whoever told her to release Not Myself Tonight as the lead needs to be fired. The latin influences really suit the song. 6. Glam: Okay song, its really not memorable at all though. Its kind of boring, and the chorus is really disappointing compared to the rest of the song. 7. Prima Donna: This is one of the songs I hated at first listen, but its grown on me. Its kinda a bop. also THAT CHORUS HER VOCALS OMG, her vocals on most of the album to this point were really mediocre 8. Sex For Breakfast: One of the best songs on the album honestly. I love it, and I have seen people hating on it on this site, and I swear, its such a bop. Its also like not fake sexy like Woohoo, and Not Myself Tonight, like those songs it sounded like she was trying to be sensual, and failed. This is WHAT SHE WAS TRYING TO DO AND SHE DID THAT. 9. Lift Me Up: Beautiful song, the ballads are really the highlight of the album. You Lost Me f*cking like wins over this though, but thats not what this is about. My only complaint is the transition from electronic sexual songs to ballads is really weird. 10. All I Need: Its cute, the meaning of the song is nice. Though, its not that memorable 11. I Am: Second or third best song on the album, really beautiful, and I like the Sia like sound, she really executed it well. Its a overall beautiful, and amazing song, and has this raw emotion to it UGH, its amazing. 12. You Lost Me: THE BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM. Its so beautiful and her vocals are so amazing on this songs. She convays her emotion so well with her vocals, and the lyrics. OH MY GOD SHE DID THAT, THIS, JUST THIS, Its one of my fav Xtina songs 13. I Hate Boys: Its a good song, but not like overall memorable. Though its a mood though. 14. My Girls (Ft. Peaches): Oh god, this song is bad, like almost Woohoo bad, it sounds super old, and the vocals are really mediocre. I could barely finish the song, and whoever produced it like ew, this song I can't. 15. Vanity: Meh, its okay, the lyrics are kinda immature, though high note at the end is iconic. Its a kinda boring song, and is the kinda song that I was waiting for it to end while listening. 16. Monday Morning: I have seen certain members praise this song, lol why, it sucks, and is really mediocre 17. Bobblehead: Its like one of the worst songs on the album lol, stop tryna be a rapper Xtina, and the lyrics sound like they were written by a f*ckin third grader. The Wah Wah Wah Wah Wah part is iconic though. 18. Birds Of Prey: OH MY GOD ITS SO LIKE HYPNOTIC one of the best songs on the album, I can say she did THAT with this song. It should have been a single, and it would have smashed. This song is insane and I love it. 19. Stronger Than Ever: Really beautiful song, and her VOCALS omg I love this song so much, it honestly gives me chills. So, conclusion, do I still think it is her worst album, yes. Maybe its because of the select few songs that make my ears bleed. Though, I do not hate the album as much as I did when I first listened to it. It really has its highlights, but parts of it I swear to got wtf. But lotus is not her best, it’s her worst. stripped and B2b are her best, with liberation and bionic being middle tier. also, Monday morning and elastic love are terrible and I hate boys is good? You’re so dismissive of songs that clearly reference different musical styles and set the blue print for songs that were successful later on (“get lucky” is literally “Monday morning” 2.0) and then praise a basic abomination like “I hate boys.” It’s hard to take a your review seriously. It was dead on arrival and already-dated upon release. a bunch of random, faux-spirational, self-empowerment clunkers.
