Iran announced Wednesday it was partially withdrawing from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA. "The very defective JCPOA expires shortly, anyway, and gives Iran a clear and quick path to nuclear breakout. Iran must abandon its nuclear ambitions and end its support for terrorism," Trump said. Now that deal has been scrapped, and our relationship is more adversarial than it has been in years. "They'll never get a nuclear weapon under my Presidency!" Trump screamed into the void after ripping up the deal meant to ensure that they don't ~~~ Trump is a self-centered idiot who does what he wants, but he is still surrounded by the existing power structure (Republicans, military-intelligence community), most of whom are still corporatist, military industrial complex advocating war hawks and they "temper" his actions in their wishes. Both sides are just using Trump for his base and political power, which IMO is something that should enrage anti establishment and first-time voters who voted for Trump.
