But it’s always so true and funny when people deny that she isn’t that BIG as she is in the US as compared to worldwide. It’s mainly because the whole world doesn’t have the ‘Black people white people’ issue in the world. However, those who do know her have always respected her (as far as I know) when it comes to her social activism. But yeah, as an artist, globally, there are many other singers bigger than her including Lady Gaga & Rihanna who are way more global than her. Some can say Shakira and even BTS in today’s world. I think this is one of the things that irks people about Bey when people like Wendy praise her to the heavens when her status in the US is not the same worldwide. So true. People in the U.S. view Taylor Swift and Beyonce as the biggest females of the 2010s but worldwide it's actually Gaga and Rihanna. They just have more variations in their careers that allow them to be more international.

I’m literally not making this up but some people I met in real life only know Bey from Crazy in Love and Single Ladies. Nothing other than that. Just imagine. Does it matter? KingRedd 3,139
First off... how many times are we going to create threads about Beyonce knowing the same people will come to spew negativity every time... In my honest opinion, Singers have way more power than actors. Singers have more social media presence, they have more exposure, they are covered by the media all the time, they tour, they are the most watched on YouTube, and are successful in other areas. It’s easier to be a singer and do movies than it is to be an actor and become a huge singer. At that award show, she wasn’t the most important, yet in pop culture she was. Hell the most notable things from the show was her dress, her not standing, and Ricky’s monologue. Yall can hate her but cmon be real. Y’all act like no one in the world besides USA knows who she is and that’s simply not true. May I Read You? 😎
Gagaplayer315 14,045
And then people are surprised when she gets called overrated 🙄
StrawberryBlond 14,862
Wendy needs to realise that at the end of the day, Beyonce is at a movie awards show. Singers mean very little there, even the most famous in the world. To get respect, you have to have been invited a few times, performed a few times, been nominated/won a few times. Beyonce's got a long way to go before she gets put on equal footing at such an event. And why would Joaquin Phoenix mean nothing in her world? He starred in a movie that made over $1 billion last year, breaking the record for the highest earning R-rated movie of all time and its won critical acclaim. Beyonce didn't make $1 billion last year. By Wendy's logic, Joaquin Phoenix should be the biggest name in that room, then, if she's basing starpower on fame and money. Just to make clear, however, I'm not holding it against Beyonce for not standing up but the only reasoning that's acceptable is "she was just tired" or "she didn't see the movie so didn't want to clap for something she hadn't seen." However, if you want to claim she didn't need to because she was superior to everyone in that room...excuse me, no. 12 hours ago, Talenti said: Beyonce is not god, she herself reiterates that all the time so people like Wendy need to stop saying stuff like that it just makes her look bad She did it once with a message on a screen during one song on her tour. And it happened so quick, it was more of subliminal message level. Hardly "reiterating it all the time." If she doesn't believe she's a goddess or above others, why does the cover art for Best Thing I Never Had feature her scrawling "King Bey" on the mirror? Why did she dress as a French queen for the promo ad for her Mrs Carter Show tour while a song boasting of her credentials and telling us to bow down played in the background? Why did she dress herself up in a way reminiscent of the Virgin Mary when she did her last Grammys performance? Why did she dress up in a way reminiscent of a Greek goddess/biblical figure when doing her twins reveal photoshoot? And this is just a handful of many times she's done these things. Beyonce wants us to see her as superior and above it all, she's been sending us this imagery for years. If she didn't feel comfortable with this stuff, she'd humble her image so much more and stop with all the grandoise posturing. 10 hours ago, KingRedd said: In my honest opinion, Singers have way more power than actors. It makes it seem like they're more popular because they do more things that put them out there. People tend to listen to music more than they watch movies but watching a movie doesn't cost as much as buying an album. And if your favourite actor makes several movies a year and you go to see them all, you've actually spent more on them than your favourite singer. And if you've ever looked up Movieclips on YouTube, you'll be surprised at how many people have watched classic movie scenes and over 32 million people are subscribed to that channel. I notice that older people tend to recognise actors better than they do singers, even the younger ones. The only reason that singers seem more successful is because their albums are solo focused and represent them and only them. Actors play roles that aren't like their real life persona and act in movies that star more than just themselves. It's obvious which one is going to seem to have a more dedicated fanbase. How was her dress notable? It looks not unlike multiple dresses she's worn in the past, including to the recent Lion King premiere. And nobody said that she's unknown outside the US. Just that she's not the superstar she once was from an international standpoint and she's not held on the same pedestal that she is in America. Singers have more exposure, more followers, more views. Not a channel of clips but a video dedicated to one song can have a billion views. Singers also have other ways of exposure like Gaga and Rihanna who do make up, or like Brit and Bey with their perfumes and clothing line for Bey. Singers are covered highly in the media. If Beyoncé walks out of a building, paparazzi will swarm. Singers are on a level that many don’t think about. Singers get people to come to a show that cost hundreds of dollars- buy merch, buy albums, buy singles, etc. Actors are huge too but to ignore the power of singers is strange to me. I never said her dress was nice or bad I stated that social media and news outlets covered her dress and presence and her not standing very highly. Her and Ricky were show stealers in terms of coverage. Again actors are huge and they have a lot of power too but singers have an edge to me.
