I agree, we can acknowledge both, but in this specific case, Iran is saying opposite of what Trump is saying. Trump doubled down on attacking cultural sites, knowing full well it’s a war crime and that civilians would be killed. Many Americans believe all Iranians are savages and uncivilized, FOX News (which Trump and his base are religiously following) are saying stuff like “they (Iranians) would destroy all American cultural sites and build a mosque on top” which is complete bs and fear-mongering and this statement also proves it.

I mean... almost every war the West has been involved in within the Middle East was started by the west because of racism, belief imposition or simply to steal resources. I think both sides forget that people get affected because of adults that act like children.

Tbh that’s all politics is to me; adults being children. But it’s nice to hear at least ONE thought out of his head is to not attack civilians, unlike us tbh.

Tbh I never got this Americanised fear of Islam being a major religion in the states. Same here in the UK, I mean I know it boils down to racism really but I think people forget there’s white converts in Islam and America literally has the KKK still that’s a big national organisation that Americans can’t seem to illegalise even though they should 💀

Sorry I agree with you, I just hate when people act like this is a Trump problem. American government was even more ruthless during Obama, Hilary, and Bush when it comes to foreign policy. Also, there is the CIA and other forms of government that are responsible for this.

Absolutely. Iran is litteraly surrounded by US military bases and don't have any interest in killing americans, they just want US forces to leave the region (to take control of it). Trump is using xenophobia for electoral purposes and killing some civilians doesn't seem to bother him.

+ let's not forget that almost every Western powers leaders are also war criminals and/or corrupted war weapons sellers in the Middle East. That's why "WWIII" is no joke, so many countries are involved.

Agreed. I was just watching this clip yesterday and wondering how many in the US army have the same mindset

Mhm. The military tends to be United and even they condemned the guy who killed and posed with a fighter for no reason. Trump pardoned.  People who complain about it are framed as "hating America".

I'm just also tired of the "Intersectional Imperialist" attitude of "we need more female war criminals!"

These are high school bully type boys who get recruited into the military. And that's not even an exaggeration. They haven't learned basic ethics.  What a disgusting attitude.

Iran being a peaceful country is irrelevant. The US toppled the Iran govt back in I think 1953 because they didn’t like that the president wanted to give profits from oil to his people. So the US toppled their govt and installed a puppet leader. Then by the 1979 revolution that leader was ovethrown by the ayatollah. And ever since then we have done many aggressive moves toward their country including crushing sanctions back in 2017. So don’t come into this thread acting like Iran deserves to have their military leaders killed because the US said so and that it’s ok for Trump to threaten Iran with international war crimes because that’s not okay.
