President Biden 5,898
This is the fundamental problem with the Progressive movement. Like the Tea Party, why are trying to force out every establishment figure, experienced politician and moderate Democrat. It won’t work. The country is extremely diverse politically, with a fair sized portion of voters in the center. I personally like to split it into thirds, as I find each party’s extreme base makes up about 30% of the total electorate. That still leaves 40% in the center. Mathematically, this should be split between the parties. But with Trumpism, most moderate Republicans have ABANDON their party entirely. If the Democratic party was more united and had less of this bullcrap, they’d steal most moderate voters, making America a majority Democratic. That would enable overwelming landslides, Democratic presidents and progressives in power. You don’t have to like and agree entirely with everyone in your party, but when you start trying to force other members out because they disagree with you, your isolating voters. Far right Republicans realized this and were able to win in 2014 & 2016 by uniting their two wings behind a diverse set of candidates (2014: high profile POC and women in the GOP, 2016 primary: most diverse GOP primary ever w/ POC, a woman, people from various areas in the country, experienced candidates and outsiders, etc). AOC is doing nothing more than shooting Democrats in the foot with low comments like this. This is the kind of **** Trump does. Let’s not stoop that low. I got drunk
derpmonster 22,412
She's right. Also "crazy liberals" lmao what are you on The majority of Democrats are already moderates. And by pushing moderates who get nothing meaningful done and are funded by big corporations, we've lost elections before. It's the progressives that energize people enough to vote. People are sick of politicians who are bribed by billionaires into maintaining a status quo that doesn't work for anyone. People are sick of healthcare costs. People are sick of Democrats who lie all election cycle and do nothing to promote the wellbeing of their constituents once elected. This is exactly why Bernie and Warren with their nearly identical platforms have energized voters so much more than people like Biden have. This is why AOC has such a big voice. This is why Hillary was forced to adopt half of Bernie's platform to convince people to vote for her. And once more candidates realize the truth about war, it's over for moderates. Republicans: Kill The Poor Moderate Democrats: Kill The Poor (Clean Radio Edit) People were sick and disillusioned from the lies and so they bought into Trump's lies (among many other reasons of course). Morphine Prince 109,650
She’s right. Someone like Joe Biden would be Center right in most countries. AOC would be center left or more to the left. They would not be in the same party. These are facts. Laugh all you want.

PartySick 172,446
Then join the green party, sis or establish a new party for the leftists. Democrats literally are the moderates in this country...or at least they should be. They'd be considered centrists in other countries. Imo, we'd do better with Dems and Greens (or whatever left party there is) working together with an actual contest of practical but humane policies and ideas moving us into the future. Pragmatism from the centrists, passion and ideals from the leftists. And the Republicans can sit in the corner and watch as their party shrivels But we can all agree Biden is a mess Whimsical bitch

It's so early on right now. The election is 10 months away. Now is the time for the Democratic party to fight internally and choose the most accepted candidate. I agree that when it comes to November, regardless of internal fighting, Democrats must unite behind the nominee, whoever that might be. Now is the time to debate. Adakam 2
I dislike Biden as much as most of you, but avoiding a Biden presidency isnt the priority here. The absolute priority is to avoid 4 more years of trump. Leave this kind of thing for an election where there isnt this much at stake. Stop splitting the democrat party NOW ITS NOT THE TIME
REALITY 80,162
Well, if Trump is able to move the Republican party so far right, then why can't Dems move more to the left? Political parties have evolved over time, and they will continue to evolve. We are currently in a position in history we've only been in literally one or two other times. As Republicans continue to move towards Trumpism, we, as the the Democratic party, need to establish what exactly are values are: and I believe that those values should come in the form of people like Sanders, Warren, and AOC. Now, I don't hate Biden. I don't hate him at all. If he gets the nomination, will I be disappointed? Absolutely. However, at that point, we, as Democrats need to rally together and get behind him (again, if he gets the nomination). The same needs to be said Sanders, Warren, Buttigieg, or anyone else who ends up getting the nomination. That said, AOC is right in the sense that Biden and her would be in two different political parties. That's just a fact of the matter. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢.
