The situation is kind of blurry overall. 1. If you use Shazam to identify the song, it’s not recognized. That means that it hasn’t been delivered to the digital platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc). 2. If it has not been delivered we these possible options: - It leaked way ahead of release. They must be thinking now about a new plan. -This was planned by her team to create some buzz, and they either plan to release another track as the single (Aura situation) or -They will release this one but are waiting to align things to follow what they had planned with the digital platforms (date in which the track will be included in TTH, Video Release, YouTube Premiere, etc). When there is an artist as big as Gaga releasing, the digital platforms are really straightforward with the label in describing what spots they will give to the artist to support their release (editorial spots basically). If Gaga rush releases, that plan may be scrapped or change to a simpler one. For example, if this week Adele was releasing, and this Gaga leak happened, it’s very possible that if they upload the Gaga track she may lose some spots that have already been given to Adele. Also, there need to be assets. At this point, we don’t know if Gaga has a video ready, photo shoots ready (for playlist covers, etc) I have been asking a friend constantly about this topic since I don’t get information regarding Gaga’s label and I have been told that the single does not have a release date assigned yet, so I’m starting to think that they will ignore this situation and stick to their original plan. Thank you !! I really wish people would realize drawing attention to a leak pre-release will HURT the release (even more) when it does happen.
