NT78 1,230 Posted January 6, 2020 Share Posted January 6, 2020 The videos really don't accurately capture how she sounds in person. It's like, 25% of her vocal power comes through in a video. I was not prepared for this when I went to the J&P show on June 9. Her voice literally made my entire body reverberate. It was literally like a spiritual experience. I was blown away. When I watch some of my videos, all that is lost and it sounds...not that great, to be honest. But it sounded AMAZING in person. Cell phones are not the best equipment to capture her voice on at all. In all the years I have been a fan, I have never seen the quality of her voice get like this :(. It makes me think this is the reason why LG6 is taking so long... she is probably scrapping recordings because her voice is currently not at its full potential. Also, do you guys think this has to do with age? I ask because when she was 24-25 years old doing the Monster Ball she would sing and travel a lot more frequently yet the quality of her voice never seemed to decline. But she’s currently only 33 which is still REALLY young and she’s not performing/traveling as often as she used to! You know what I mean? It’s strange to me... I think substance abuse could be part of it possibly too. It's been the same story for years now. I'm sitting here actually happy for and proud of her that she found a way to cope with it all. No need to keep presenting her as a helpless victim... She found a way to cope with it yet she sounds like shes in pain every time she sings. I'm also worried that the reason she's delaying LG6 is because some of the songs she recorded she can't sing them properly anymore? Maybe she's scared of singing them live? I mean it was a matter of months... in June she sounded perfect and already in september she started sounding strained and in the last shows it really seems she lost her stamina and sustain. I was at the NYE show and thought she was doing a lot better since I’d watched videos like this beforehand That specific song also takes a lot of power and has big notes, and it’s at the end of a nearly 2 1/2 hour show. I think that's also why she doesn't sing anything from ASIB besides Shallow, the songs are too hard for her voice now.
