Some of the things that she talks about is how she felt like she was going to die for 5 years (due to not being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and not knowing what was wrong with her body), the kinds of medication that she takes everyday (including antipsychotics and antidepressants), how she was raped repeatedly at the age of 19, how she used to cut and throw herself against walls to deal with her PTSD and some of the various techniques that she uses to cope with her pain and sadness. Freud 5,650 Posted January 5, 2020 Share Posted January 5, 2020 I saw the whole thing on twitter already yesterday and as a true fan of hers it was quite the ride to say at least. After hearing first hand and unfiltered where she is right now and was healthwise... I felt a lot of things. Spoiler The BTWB was one of the best nights in my life, I was upclose and front to her. It gave me alot of strength in life i needed, and hearing during that time she thought every night she was going to die because of the pain made me feel ashamed to be honest. That I was so egoistic to put my state of mind before the person I admired the most, and didn't even notice it. My Joanne date also got cancelled twice and my instant reaction was - how unreflected she has to be to cancel not once but twice, knowing normal people work hard to afford things like tours/travel to cities and this should have been avoided. But after hearing this, I felt so sorry for my anger in the past and ashamed. She should never tour the world again if this means the amount of pain she has to go through and ever real fan and person with a heart should think the same. If Gaga gives us something, be happy over it and don't complain if it's not in your country or not your cup of tea or not in the amount of time you want it to be. Gaga absolutely deserves to do whatever she wants or feels is right, even if that means more Enigma/Haus Labs. For example, taking an extended break from touring for health reasons is NOT disrespectful to the international fans at all, nor does it mean that she isn't passionate about what she does anymore. These are completely false "criticisms" that people have been sharing over and over simply because Gaga hasn't been doing exactly what they wanted (those that have portrayed these opinions in a rude or immature manner specifically). We should be grateful that she is still even able to perform, and perhaps help spread her message of love/kindness instead of criticizing everything. For Gaga to have went though tremendous amounts of physical and mental pain but still have the drive to succeed and eventually win an Oscar is nothing short of astounding. As someone with fibro I can relate to so much of what she said and it means so much to have someone of Gaga's status and fame behind the cause to try and find help for people with this illness. She's totally right about radical acceptance. I couldn't have carried on without completely accepting my situation and trying to deal with it in the best way possible. I really hope people will lay off her when it comes to moaning about the lack of albums etc. She's working hard to get through each day and be healthy, it really doesn't matter in the scheme of things when she next tours or releases music. LGMonster95 13,704 Posted January 6, 2020 Share Posted January 6, 2020 I saw the interview yesterday on twitter, she was so honest and raw, the fact that she was in pain back then and didn't knew what was happening to her to the point of her thinking that she might die was so sad and when you think about the people treating her like a money making machine and not actually caring about her must have been so hard and difficult for her to deal with. I'm so glad that she got through all of that and feels better now and is in control of her pain and emotions. Her confidence, determination, passion for what she does and believes is truly amazing and inspiring, only a person with a really strong mindset would have done what she did in her career and life which is why I always trust her. SKANK 14,288 Posted January 6, 2020 Share Posted January 6, 2020 It's strange how some people seem to be under the impression that if you are critical of Gaga's Vegas residency, her make up line, or a lack of LG6, you must have a disregard for her health. It's possible to be empathetic to her physical and mental limitations while being critical of her artistic ventures.
