Chickens in Malibu 7,873
Am I supposed to feel sorry for Australia? A country that to this day doesn't take climate change seriously and treats its environment like ****? They even arrest journalists covering any eco-friendly movements: https://www.france24.com/en/20190722-australia-arrests-french-journalists-anti-coal-protest This is the direct consequences of human stupidity. Earth will pay you back in kind. You treat earth like ****, climate change will cause more extreme heats, and we'll have more of these fires. I'm not gonna donate my hard-earned money to a country that gives 0 ****s about environment protection. I will only donate to animal protection charities because animals don't deserve to suffer because of human mistakes.

I'm just being truthful. This will be the new norm. This is how life on earth will end. We'll be known as the race that self-destructed. Because of humans stupidity and denial of climate change, extreme weather conditions will keep becoming harsher and harsher until earth becomes inhabitable and human race is extinct. Climate change sucks I know, and our government is terrible and carry a lot of responsibility for this. But damn these are actual people that have lost everything and going 'I don't feel sorry for them because Australia got what it deserves!' is just cold. Besides, the money P!nk donated is going directly to the fire services fighting the fires, not the government. (Edit: Okay technically the fire services are a government agency, but they're, y'know, the ones physically trying to stop the fires) Do you feel him sir? I would donate my money to charities not australian government. Australian government has been willfully blind about this issue for so long. In fact they received multiple requests in the recent months to increase funding to deal with these extreme weather conditions and they ignored them. There is something called collective responsibility, which was my point. Every single australian must demand more action to protect from extreme weather conditions moving forward. Being silent about this and continue to vote for these politicians is complicit. It's like the same issue here in the U.S with gun violence. Whenever it happens "send your thoughts and prayers" and then people forget about it and move on. Nothing changes.

These are the biggest polluters and contributors to climate change per capita (Australia is the second biggest polluter per capita in the world). Even China! Even China is doing better! I'm sorry but australians have collective responsibility, just like americans do. Enough with the B.S. Am I supposed to now help the australian government to remedy something it refused to even care about for years? No thank you. I'll let them deal with the consequences of their own actions. I'm sure they have enough money to deal with it. I said what I said. I am not going to donate to a government of a country that is doing very little to reduce its contribution to climate change. Even the U.S and Canada have actually tried and taken positive steps under liberal leadership. Australia has not so far. When a majority of people keep voting for these morons repeatedly, unfortunately they will bring the bad consequences upon the minority as well. Droughts are happening every year in Africa and people are starving, africa, the continent that pollutes the least, yet I don't see this level of compassion to actually help people who are suffering because of the actions of the big polluters. Again, I understand your point of view (I even agree to an extent) but you came off a little strong. There's innocent people that 1) died & 2) lost everything. A little bit of empathy would be much more welcome. And no one is making you donate, but at the same time, people who are donating are doing it with the best of intentions, so don't come for them Australia's government on the other hand... Calling them deplorable would be being polite
