The problem with social media is that a small group of people can be very loud and distort the reality of things. It's never reflective of the general population

 

I admit I myself at one point started to wonder whether or not there was something to this because some ppl online are constantly bashing white people or straight men over their priveledge and that they should shut up etc and started to wonder if this growing resentment and supposed reverse prejudice actually had something to it

 

But what I quickly realized is that in real life I never really experience these toxic attitudes which means the only explanation is that a small fraction of toxic ppl online are making it a big thing and making it appear like a bigger social issue than it actually is

I mean, it's on social media people can be more daring to spew what they really think. On Twitter even more as they hid behind their anonymous accounts. It's true that the amount of people on social media is but a fraction of the population in our respective community, but it doesn't mean that it does not really reflect the society as a whole. Most likely, these people are those whom are more obnoxious than any of our friends and family who does have the same thoughts, but more timid or less outspoken in nature.

And if these people are hiding behind their accounts to avoid being judged, imagine when it becomes a movement and started being radicalize beyond social media. We all know the examples of what happened when radicalization happens both in the distant past and more alarmingly, in the current times.

Regardless of to what degree it exists I can't imagine it would be a rising problem

 

Racial issues are not as severe as they were say in the 1950s (even tho it's very much a big issue still) so I can't imagine reverse-prejudice based on resentment of unfair opression would be worse now than 70 years ago

 

Whatever number of people resent whites because of unfair priveledge should actually be on the decline not on the rise

 

I think social media just makes these extreme ideas more visible not that in reality it's a growing problem

Seriously though I don’t know a more entitled and annoying group of people.... I really can’t wait for the day the system switches in our favor and they can actually experience ACTUAL oppression because of their skin colors since they want it so bad. second, some groups are really underrated. most are in debt after debuting. Some example is Red Velvet who only got to pay their debts after Russian Roulette in 2015.

Because they aren't aware of this stuff. I mean why aren't any other artists saying anything about their toxic twitter stans. It won't help anyways. To be fair. I have to admire the gumption of K-pop fans... K-pop stans are better at advertising and messaging than the entire Democratic party in America, so We have decided to stan!

That being said, "It's Okay to be White" is a really silly thing to say, its already assumed pretty much everywhere in the world that it is okay to be white. No one needed to be reminded, we already know, and white people know it too.  Prominent white people being called out for being racist, shitty, and just privileged in general does not mean white people as a class are under attack
